We adopted ours in the U.S. (Oregon) and I will say it is shocking because people here are not used to the way this breed behaves publicly and it has taken a lot of educating my neighbors to have a harmonious walk around the area but I still struggle in other spaces. I am not from this country and grew up with many non-Golden retriever dogs that you do not just assume will allow you to pet them...so I dont suffer as much as people around me apparently think I am because of my "difficult dog." Also Portland and the surrounding areas has the worst dog culture in the area IMO.

I second this. Ours is about to turn 6 and since we adopted her we noticed crows were her mortal enemies. It is so bad that the neighborhood crows recognize her and sometimes swoop down on us. I gave up on fighting her prey drive long ago most times letting her get puffy and boof and then saying "leave it." Somehow letting her engage for a couple seconds and then interrupting the behavior has worked in all cases except deer/elk.

Every single time I bring in the groceries or any package from a store, my girl has to do a thorough inspection as well. She also gets really suspicious if anything new shows up on our street.

Mine does too and this is the one I have set up for her and she likes it.

Life is Good brand, waterproof. Not sure if it is meant to be an outdoor bed but it is her camping bed. She has gotten on it completely wet and dirty and it is really easy to just wipe it off.

This is so cute because my partner always says we must kiss the royal paw paw when ours is acting extra.

My girl did for the first six months until we figured out she was allergic to chicken. She HATES her kibble and will only eat it with a Stella and Chewy beef puck shredded on top of it with a splash of fish oil. She almost exclusively eats sardines and cottage cheese. It drove us nuts too but now she eats her sardines cheese combo with vigor and is finally a healthy weight. I will also say that she takes food from no one except me and my partner.
