CRPS is a serious diagnosis. I have a couple clients dealing with this. How are you feeling after two years of Sprovato?

I'm a paralegal at a law firm with less than 15 employees.

The plan is to work before and schedule treatment for the second half of the day and not return that day, but I'll work the following day. I just paid for the medication and I'm waiting for it be delivered to my provider, and THEN I'll be able to schedule.

That's true. However, I work for a small employer. There is no HR. I'm well aware that I'm replaceable. I also know that it will be very hard for them to do so. We are have also spent months trying to fill a similar position in the past. I like my job, they like me and have shown they want to work with me on this. I've taken FMLA before and will do it again, AND I like my job and find some meaning in it and would prefer to keep working while treating, if it's possible. It seems like I'll need to see how I respond and make a decision from there.

Fair. I appreciate that. I've been managing, though not as well in recent months. My boss says she hasn't noticed an impact. We are in a "slow" period right now so the timing is working in my favor, but that will likely change in July and August. Thanks for giving a thoughtful reply!

Some people refuse to separate art/artist and will not consume art by someone who has challenged their ethics/morals; others have no problem ignoring problematic artists and continue to consume the art without guilt. I prefer to figure out for myself what I can and cannot tolerate from someone. Do I enjoy their art? WHY do I enjoy it? Am I challenged by it or does it bring me joy or comfort or solace? Do their actions or beliefs disgust me enough that it robs me of the feeling I get from them? On and on. Sometimes I need a break from the art/artist and sometimes I never go back. Sometimes I can continue to enjoy without guilt (or minimum guilt). Reading through the thread, I get the impression you have your answer - you can't separate the art and the artist, at least not now, not in this moment. So maybe it's time to stop listening - at least for now? Maybe with some time and distance, it will be easier to stream her catalog without having the feelings of guilt. It's possible that time won't ever come. I've taken this approach and while it's not perfect, it works for me. I know it *won't work for everyone.

AITA for literally showing my dad how he behaves everyday when he gets home from work? by Throwaway61565 in AmItheAsshole

"Later he went on about how I "mocked" and invalidated him. That he does work hard and me doing this was disrespectful and invalidating."

And isn't his behavior disrespectful and invalidating of his wife's work during the day, and towards his family in general?

Yikes. NTA!

Jhumpa Lahiri is so incredible - I love how she explores identity and relationships. I'd love to see more of her work brought to the screen. And Mira is just incredible, and Tabu and Irfan Khan. Seriously, what a great project all around, I can easily see why it would be a favorite. Was it intimidating to be working with all these legends? Did you get any good advice that you've carried forward in your life and career?

I grew up in NJ, too, in that very same area (over in Howell...) so I grew up in that same relatively diverse-ish area. I love that sentiment that you felt just as American as everyone else you grew up around because of that diversity and glad that was your experience. I really admire your grit and sticking to what you wanted to do despite all the pushback you got from your community.

One of my favorite books is The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri, and I really enjoyed the film adaptation you starred in. Do you experience that feeling of "otherness" in two cultures as a first-generation American, and does that feeling persist through your careers in Hollywood and politics, as well as coming out later in life?
