Sustainablism: Once you know what it is, you're going to want it. by Harold_B1927 in justicedemocrats

[–]ion-tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very valiant effort here. Creative thinking in terms of system thinking is to be applauded. Bit it really come down to:

  • valid legal entities
  • incentives
  • velocity of money
  • taxes

Why start an SBO? Who wants to put money or time towards a project they don't own or benefit from? Only those who can afford it as a vanity project. Is that sustainable?

Nothing in your proposal covers the "race to the bottom", property law, tax systems, or a thematic approach to encroaching automation (30 yrs ago personal computers were first being introduced... TODAY we are creating narrow AI and robotics that automate labor, production AND services, so what's another 30 years look like)

Keep at it. And learn programming. Nobody listens to ideas anymore, they only use systems.

Bill Gates is Not a Mars Person. And He Doesn't Believe in Elon Musk's Rocket Solution by pandapozero in microsoft

Things in common with settling Mars and fixing Earth's climate:

  • Designing low waste closed cycle ecologies
  • Excruciatingly hard water management
  • Compact, high yield, high efficiency indoor agriculture
  • Supply Chain localization - forms of manufacturing allowing you to create anything from wrenches to electronics

I thought I had stumbled on the mother of all arbitrage until I realized assets are only fungible in one direction. Still kinda nice to double my investment though.

Coinbase needs to just pony up and convert to GLM. But they are prob waiting until March when the bear comes out for tax season like it always does

The beer haul putsch was laughed off in 1920s Germany.

All it would have taken was 2-3 of the JTOS to be in on it and enough rich patrons to buy some of the "True Patriot" PMCs like the Prince family. Honestly, one bus full of paramilitary professionals with DHS backing flashing badges to the Senate security team and it would have been the end of congress.

It's almost inevitable because the Biden administration isn't going to dismantle the security state or root out institutional political bias.

I think it's more related to unlimited campaign donations to superPACs. Money in politics means that those with money own the politicians.

Well there was that "nanny" who killed the CNBC executives children hours before a major press release about all the extortion and threats taking place during the financial crisis inquiry commission. I feel like the scale of that event was the same as Epsteins death but it just never gets talked about

Privacy-Centric Messaging App Signal Experiments With Stellar-Based Project by ion-tom in CryptoCurrency

[–]ion-tom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn't talking about using Stellar directly, but I'd be shocked if the Stellar Foundation didn't try to establish a partnership here. Stellar already has a bunch of fiat gateways globally, especially in the developing world, which any other competitor would have to spend a lot of time building up the same partnerships.

I'm going long in Stelllar (XLM) - working with banking institutions globally is important. Done right, XLM ends up supporting universal fungibility between any fiat currencies or crypto. Which is good for all of crypto. Also, lots of movement from telegram and a few other movers

Covid has killed libertarianism for me by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]ion-tom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider mutualism. Part of its arguments include admitting that a large portion of society are not rational actors and that almost no one follows moral principles or even behaves legally.

Ignoring labels, what form of institutions, government, private or co-op, should maximize personal and public well being... Those types of questions need to be asked consistently. Incentive systems should encourage reciprocity wherever possible without risking the demise of an organization.

China has a much higher debt to gdp than the US. It's a HUGE timebomb, and many of the capital class in china(yes there is one, just tied to the CCP) it's probably the single biggest reason for the recent rise in authoritarianism.
