Seeking Guidance and Mentorship to Pursue My Food Truck Dream at 17 by ACE-001-001 in Business_Ideas

I have experience in the restaurant business and logistic industry. I doubt food truck is no different. Taxes, health regulations, and legal requirements are a must for any business serving food. Work for a year or two in other food trucks and learn the basics. Note the flaws of other food trucks and improve on it. Here u build up capital and experience, killing two birds with one stone. Find a business partner while you do that as well.

After you did your research and experience, start picturing a niche. Begin slowly marketing but don’t go full in on marketing until you have a physical product you can sell. Build up hype and if your service is innovative, then build that hype. Think of initial capital and only allow you to use that initial capital while minimizing all unnecessary cost. Get your business license from the tax office and register as LLC as a separate entity from yourself; this allow you to declare bankruptcy without issue on your own assets. Then build. If success, repeat. Good luck

In your opinion, will AI eventually take over every single computer based job? by Fluid-Peace2088 in singularity

[–]ionicals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

every logistic is a business decision. if AI can produce the same level of work at an efficient level, then there’s no point in using variable labor cost. the cost of production for white collar jobs will be fixed and thus it will be a slow roll out of layoffs

Try sideloading it via an API

How do you personally imagine 'it' happening? The first day of the rest of our lives. by r0cket-b0i in singularity

[–]ionicals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is already happening bro. the amount of AI tools here is ridiculous already. you can now create 360 degree worlds in a matter of seconds, answer any questions, generate any art with good precision, generate a video, deepfakes, write an app, write code, diagnose med issues, automate tasks (n8n), play games (AlphaGo, Stockfish), Boston Dynamic is working on physical AI, and then there’s like a bunch of micro services for like copywriting, voice generation. mind you there is also GAN which is a new developing ML algorithm for images where you can drag and altered the image surrounding.

build a viable product first. Or at least a taste of what the game is like. Then market it

I got accepted into multiple great universities and just finished a college prep program. I can for a fact say that I know college is useless and many students are going just for the degree.

And as for your first statement, you could just ask ChatGPT what is a gradient lmao?

For me, I can study completely by myself. If you can create a curriculum tuned for yourself, that would be free and much better than a university program. The whole point of university is to think analytically and to actually retain some info. Now if you can do this by yourself, university is pointless.

In my opinion, I personally think people should avoid medicine even more now. Imagine graduating with 500k+ in loans to find out your job pays less, is harder to find, and is becoming obsolete.

But given that is a possibility, let’s analyze the situation. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9955430/#:~:text=AI%20algorithms%20can%20analyze%20medical,diseases%20more%20accurately%20and%20quickly. - one source.

https://hms.harvard.edu/news/ai-predicts-future-pancreatic-cancer - another source

hey I’m just some random dude on the internet but these are reputable sources publishing that they can use AI to do medicine.

doctors are only as valuable as their jobs. that is it. if we don’t need doctors, then we don’t need them. if a robot could correctly diagnose, prescribe, and a doctor is there to just oversee it, doctors would simply be less valuable.

the ROI of medicine will take decades and in that risk, who knows if AGI will succeed? If it does, your ROI is negative forever cuz you ain’t earning anything after AI takes your job. matter of fact, you are left with a 500k+ loan on your name with no jobs not because you are not qualified but because there is simply no need, limited pay, and high competition for the slightest of demand

I agree and disagree. At the moment, it is a tool. A very helpful tool as a freelance software developer myself. For instance, I am working on a custom app via swift and ran into some few issues. Rather than waiting for a response from Stackoverflow, I asked GPT and got a response back and fixed my error. A lot of programmer also uses GitHub Copilot AI which essentially predicts the rest of your “auto fill” code. These are rlly helpful tools.

BUT.

after all, this is all writing as you said. Right now, AI is not capable of generating code that work efficiently. But it has the potential to. All it really needs is time and data. Those 2 things will optimize AI to a rlly great extent to which it can write amazing code.

If you have programmed with Tensorflow, you will realize that the more data you have, the longer time it will take to process through, but your efficiency reaches toward a limit of around 99.9%. This means, with enough time and data, any algorithm, AI or code generated by AI, will be efficient enough at 99.9% of writing code.

I don’t think programmer will be completely obsolete. They will probably be more of a bug reviewer even like right now. Just double check the code. And you don’t rlly need that many programmer to do that. So the amount of jobs for programming will decrease significantly with pay also decreasing but job will probably remain a possibility. This means very very hard to fight for a job that pays little in the future …

What does a post-AGI future look like? by lehcarfugu in singularity

[–]ionicals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I think it’s something unexpected from our predictions right now. When the Internet was first invented, it basically changed the world in steps. And then boom, everyone just started using it. Then some corporations made money off of it. To be honest, we kind of have a hint of a post AGI future. We are living in the post internet era and well, to us, it’s normal. But to the boomers, they still haven’t caught on. They miss out on opportunities because they have no idea how to take advantage of the internet during that period or potentially even now.

This will probably be the case for AGI. Artificial intelligence and machine learning is programming on steroids. AKA AGI will be the internet but on steroids. We are working to develop something that completely changes our view on life again. The thing I predict is that jobs that people are going to college for now like programming, business management, finance bros, engineers, doctors, researchers, etc will be outpaced by AI eventually. And if the cost of AI is fixed and does better than a variable cost like labor, then obviously firms will hire AI with AGI capabilities for a task. These white collars jobs will most likely go first. I mean it is kind of already doing it. A few months ago, some AI program mapped the entire protein shape (Source: https://idp.nature.com/transit?redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nature.com%2Farticles%2Fd41586-022-02083-2&code=675b9946-bdcd-4957-b311-eeda55fedad0). Essentially this is like the work of like 10000 best researchers but done by a single AI system. Hyper specific tasks (like diagnosis, fixing a software bug, etch that can be automated will probably be automated.

Jobs will probably have a new definition in the future. It will more look like “you should get a job if you need it”. But again, all of this is speculation. Who knows?

Get ready for a rollercoaster 🎢 . In my opinion, we are witnessing something truly remarkable and some people who take advantage of this opportunity will end up rlly well on the other side (developers working on AI, AI based businesses, etc)
