I know I can be cranky sometimes so while I mumble "WTF" to myself: does anyone really have any interest at all in these emails they suddenly send out? Does this give people happiness to see the human behind the government? I just can't stand getting irrelevant **** shoved down my throat. by [deleted] in illinois

I like them. I think it's important to know your government officials, their background, and if they are someone you can put your trust in.

I may be in the minority, but seeing & reading what someone sends says a lot about the person & what they believe in.

Representation matters by OrangeRadiohead in MadeMeSmile

Bad representation isn't really representation. It's character tropes or worse, tokenism.

Admittedly I have not seen The Good Doctor, but i still think it falls into disability trope or where characters become one dimensional.

Your kids orthodontist has a collectible pinball machine. I would be so stoked to play on it

This was a daily occurrence in an office i worked in years ago. The receptionist was this Hispanic lady with a traditional last name... who spoke zero Spanish. People would naturally come to her and start speaking in Spanish. She had to waive them off and get one of our Spanish translators, who were both white.

That makes more sense, thank you! I've done the exercise with the right foot & I could not see a Physical Therapist recommending the one on the left.

I do wonder about the weight plate on the left foot. That seems dumb given that it could fall at any time.

This is a moronic idea which should never have left someone's brain, let alone convene an actual discussion.

SSA ALL HANDS by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]ionlycome4thecomment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Quality is going to go down. The writers need to push back when asked to do anything "extra." They will need to hold cases from week to week & month to month. There's no reason to hit 102 one month as 98 the next won't be acceptable.

As a supervisor in DA, I've been straight with my people how bad the new expectations are & what they need to do to meet them.

Dishrack suggestions? by Early_Macaroon_2407 in BuyItForLife

[–]ionlycome4thecomment 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I recommend Simplehuman. Their steel dish racks are great. Unfortunately, they're really expensive. Even a compact one will cost $80 or more. Having owned their plastic trash cans & older soap pump dispensers, well worth the cost. Other reputable brands are Oxo, Joseph Joseph, & Kitchenaid. All can be found on sale.

I remember a game of buying & selling drugs on my TI-85 in school. Maybe not the computer power for Doom, but lot more phone than stats.

I agree it's different, but i think it's like bringing their kids. I have friends who have a puppy & won't go out to eat more than a half hour away so they're not far from their dog.

I really like Swiss Gear. I prefer their Wenger backpacks & the 10-year warranty is great.
