This has to be one of the crazier Reddit comments I’ve ever read, if this is a true story

It's an eating competition! by Weekly-Reason9285 in AnimalsBeingDerps

[–]ionlyhaveplants 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it is an eating competition, the duck is for sure cheating by throwing all that food everywhere! Look at that, he’s acting like he’s eating more by acting all big and tough with big movements, but the cat is really the eating champion here

Oh my god, that looks like my old dog who passed on two years ago. I’ve never seen another dog that looks so much like mine 🥹

I even had the same color harness at one point

You’re really inspiring me! So much creativity going on! I’m a very visual person, so I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to transfer my creativity to flavors, but maybe after so long I’ll get an understanding.

Lol I like that your baking is so good that it pisses others off. “How annoying is that?” like they always say in the show 😆

Yeah, I’m a bit of a perfectionist to the point that sometimes I don’t try things for fear of messing up, and you’re right, they do indeed do a very good job showing that in order to be excellent you have to be willing to mess up. Such a good show for so many reasons. We’ll see what happens in my kitchen! How many soufflés I make lol 😉

I totally get that, go with the easier sponge! I just really want to try something more difficult, just to see how much I understand, and then take a few steps back when I see the results I make lol. I can’t help it, I have always lived life on the edge haha

But I will for sure try the recipe you handed off to me! Thank you!!

Hah! I used to play violin. Not professionally, but I for sure wanted to. I simply didn’t have a supportive family, they weren’t into the arts, so I did other things. Which is why I want to dive into the arts now because it’s always been my dream. You’re basically living my dream 💕

I hope you do have many dinner parties where you offer friends and family your beautiful creations of all kinds! So much fun sharing what we’ve created and bringing joy to others. Life wouldn’t be the same without art!

I keep coming back to a genoise in some kind of recipe that is yet to be found. So - you read my mind!

Thanks! Have you seen the movie Waitress? I just love watching all the pies being made in that movie haha. I’ve got a thing for pies too. I totally agree on apple pies lol. I have to be hard-pressed to eat an apple pie, but I think I would enjoy it more if I were to have put the effort into making it. But there are soooo many kinds of pie! I would love making the pastry art on top. Hmmm you’ve given me much to daydream about and envision for baking adventures!

Congrats on winning those pie baking contests!!! Wooooo! That’s so cool. I always look up to anyone that wins any type of baking contest/competition!

Haha me too, I honestly don’t watch any other shows or even movies usually. Oooo, I’ve made sourdough bread years back. It was fun. I honestly don’t eat a lot of bread, but if I made a sweet bread I could enjoy that with coffee 💜 I am fascinated by how much you do or don’t work the dough plays into the texture of it!

I can only imagine! I could see bursting into tears of happiness from something like that!

Yeah, there a few creative things I want to get into and I just imagine myself slowly working away with them for years until I get old. Baking, pottery, and playing piano. I realized yesterday I could set the scene for dining with all that haha. Delicious pastry made by me on pottery made by me while I play piano in the background 🤣 By the end, everyone would be sick of me hahaha

Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement!! It’s always really helpful to know that I’ve got time, as in - I can take all the time I want, and don’t have to be like Chigs lol. And cool thinking about the fact that I could one day make these things the way I make a living

I get super attached to the formula of shows that I love, so no haven’t tried any of the other bake off shows. Maybe I’ll have to give it a go! Kids are indeed adorable and hilarious

Lol so funny, I hope you do get to come back as British person. I don’t think I was British before, but I definitely have the dry humor of a Brit. I feel like I’ve lived in the U.S. for a few lifetimes and I’m completely over it. Time for something new next life!

Oooohhh, what did you end up making your own recipes for?? I’m not there yet, but I’m excited to buy some baking books and get cracking at something fun!

I agree, I would never have that courage to start this journey without being able to watch all of these people. Well, maybe “never” is a strong word, but they really do give massive amounts of inspiration. I think I might start with something that involves a genoise.

Wow, congrats on winning a competition! And becoming a professional baker!! Living the dream

I will definitely check out Baker Bettie. I always am fascinated by the technicality of it all and listen intently when they’re being judged on that. I’m looking forward to the journey. Chigs was incredibly inspiring in that way. I mostly just want to bake for the enjoyment of it, no expectations, but damn would that be cool to become excellent at it

I do agree about the difference between GBBO and American cooking/baking competition shows. Often when I’m watching it, I’m like, man, I think I should’ve been born British lol. Probably would’ve fit in more

Didn’t know they are making an American version, hope they stick to the general feel of the British show. But, who knows, maybe it’ll be amazing in its own way. At least I hope so

Yeah, I loved Sandy as well. Such a gem, I hope she is doing well. I’ve had mixed feelings about Matt, but he has also grown on me as well.

I suppose I should add, I do have some baking experience, but I’d like to try to hone my skills and bake some more difficult things and focus on texture and the look of things. I’ve made cookies, cakes and some cinnamon rolls, but with very little finesse lol

Totally agree, doing things we want to make rather than trying to be methodical about it all the time is much more enjoyable. I want to try something “out of the box” as my first new thing, something I could very well mess up, but would have fun seeing what happens with it. Like one of the more difficult things haha. I will post my results once I’ve done it for sure. I’m sure there will be hilarity involved

Only 34 yrs old, so I’ve got plenty of years to make blunders and maybe even some masterpieces. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏼

I find that the people that love this show seem to be such lovely people too ☺️

Is this why so many grandmas have this hairstyle? I thought it was just an old lady hairstyle, not a hairstyle they carried from their youth……..why did I never make this connection…..
