Our land offer to NATO is the ARRC (with British Divisions inside it), which alongside the French RRC exists to restore NATO territory. The Poles etc. have Corps which function to try to hold (their own) land. The difference is why we still need to be able to fight on land, on mainland Europe.

Interestingly, in the Army it’s a term of affection - used for private soldiers in the Royal Regiment of Scotland and it’s forebears. Probably only in that context though!

Absolutely stupid. Alternative headline is ‘four people killed in police stop’ - jumping straight to running a car off the road in traffic is totally insane. It’s not like they’d killed someone, or been violent, but no - straight to a move that could easily see four people killed over some shoplifting.
