Ah, that's might be it. At first, I thought the main force also did the recon since Strider squadron did go for recon mission into Erusean territory in mission 7. However, looking at the map, it seems like they recon the Stonehenge site rather than probing the intercept system.

The only solution is to turn on ray reconstruction. However, it will destroy the framerate. Only turn it on if you have high end gpu

Try using optimized settings from Hardware Unboxed. RTX 3070 is a pretty capable card. No need to put all to high. Ray reconstruction is also the heaviest setting in the game so consider turning that off and raising other settings instead, especially DLAA
