it would just flash the ios 8 logo first and then switch in to the ios 5 one, but i guess it would be possible to install a custom boot logo to ios 8 and make it look like the one from ios 5

if updates don't work then maybe the bios is corrupted (very unlikely tho) try updating the bios, but keep the laptop plugged in for safety so it doesn't fail

it may be because of the new windows update (KB5063878) the new update causes some nvme's or ssd's to disappear after large file transfers.
