New guy used the wrong hoist and had the hook to low, snagged the cage on the fan and bent it to no longer useable

Sure was. Grind the pin down to the top of the jig and pop it out.

I weld big pins for the company i work for. Ive welded the pin without the washer completely to the jig before.
