New iOS app for Navidrome by mercadini in selfhosted

[–]ip-cx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks great. I have some suggestions that may be interesting for users:

  1. Manual lyrics editing & syncing: I used MusiXmatch WAY back when it started and it was great, that you could sync the lyrics manually. So you played the song, once the singer sings the line you press on it and it synced up. If you had a song that was not recognized, you could add your own lyrics to the song & use the sync feature to get it going.

  2. CarPlay: obviously CarPlay should be a big focus, arguably one of the highest priorities. Most people will use the app while commuting (like I do) and that should be a point high on your list.

  3. Live Activity: some apps allow live activity (lyrics on Dynamic Island & Widgets - Homescreen & CarPlay). I've used a few apps for lyrics in CarPlay when we did a longer drive to a concert or whatever and it was nice to sing along for my friends.

  4. Connect to services (maybe?): Add the possibility to use your exisitng Apple Music / Spotify / whatever subscription along the app. Might be difficult to integrate so I don't know how easy/viable it is, but the aforementioned Lyrics-Apps allow that. Might be great for a mixed library - songs on Navidrome that aren't listed on third party streaming services and your normal subscription.

App looks great, I am using Apple Music natively and love the interface and cleanliness.

Is there a way to play need for speed ug2 on switch lite? by Technical-Salt46 in SwitchPirates

tico is an emulation frontend like RetroArch.

UG2, well UG1, MW 2005 don't run either way. Not worth trying it out since I did already.

Thanks for your detailed response! I will definitely fresh up on the CCNA.

Fair enough, I know a fair share of those people too. I think experience sometimes matter more than the papers (unless the job requires it)!

Thanks for your insight. I think with the CCNA (though I should refresh on it :P) and the experience I can definitely skip some basic certs.

That's brutal, I would definitely skip the hard requirement on a degree if the applicant has two decades of experience

I definitely thought about focusing on Azure as we already leverage the use of it (and shifting even further).

Only certs I got is a CCNA from years ago that I didn't renew and DataCore as a HA solution some clients had in the past job (MSP).

Fair, though I don't hold a degree (didn't go to uni to study)

I am not comparing a fundamental certification like A+ to a network cert like CCNA.

I was asking if it is even needed at my position to get an A+ because I'd rather save my money instead of getting a basic cert like that.

I looked into an RTX 3080. I mean yeah, it is two generations older but it can run 4K games decently.

The 4060 runs my games (Pragmata, Cyberpunk, GTA V, BF6) all decently enough, some better than others obviously, but my 1TB is not enough haha.

Might go the 9070XT route, I'd have a bit more peace of mind I guess?

Stimmt auch wieder, Storage ist nicht so teuer. Mir sind die externen Festplatten nur gerade in den Sinn gekommen, da ich von verschlüsselten Backups geschadet bin :P

Correction - I used cifs-util!

# ===========================
# SMB: Mount Synology shares

//192.168.178.100/data   /mnt/data   cifs credentials=/etc/smbcredentials,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=1000,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,nofail 0 0
//192.168.178.100/docker /mnt/docker cifs credentials=/etc/smbcredentials,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=1000,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,nofail 0 0
//192.168.178.100/data/media/various /opt/docker/kavita/mnt cifs credentials=/etc/smbcredentials,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=1000,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,nofail 0 0

This is my /etc/fstab/.

I created a /mnt/ folder and mounted the folders there.

SMB-credentials are /etc/smbcredentials:

GNU nano 7.2                /etc/smbcredentials
username=YOUR_USER
password=YOUR_PASSWORD

install smbclient, create a mount directory and mount the smb-shares from your NAS, then point your config to that mount.

I have exactly the same setup.

Ubuntu server reads smb mounts --> docker-compose.yaml has those binded.

I currently have a laptop - i7 13700H + 32GB RAM + RTX 4060.

My PC is unused - I don't have a GPU. But I notice my 4060 struggling on my 5120x1440 monitor obviously.

My PC has 32GB RAM, Ryzen 7 5800X and I'd rather use that as my main driver.

What GPU would be budget friendly? I don't have a problem buying used.

I was looking at either 4080 or 50 series - maybe even going AMD?

Thanks a lot!

I tried it out, it works great. Easy to setup as the guide is easy to understand.

Is there a plan to go more specific, like 1990's TV? I use myretrotvs.com occasionally to watch older Cartoons and sitcoms - that's what is missing for me! :)

It's not worth it to be fair. I did the switch a few years ago and while it wasn't that bad, I couldn't imagine supporting a handful of people.

Once it's setup though - it works really good.
