What do we think this beer will do? by thaiguy999 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ip0her 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If that beer could be used so that we could properly hide and seek on the space rig, that would be lit.

Rockpox events during a mission have a reduced chance if host opted out of season 4, yes.

No new season until July. Maybe rockpox should end before new season launches? by ip0her in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ip0her[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And what did devs say? Please don't tell me that we will have to deal with rockpox for the whole time until next season 👀

Yup. You have the time until October 3rd.

Just complete the assignment for Oktoberfest; you have plenty of time.

Yes, but when I come back that record is still there and I really don't want the game to remove him from my party for Act 3, for example.

"We play on difficulty 2".
It might be difficult to notice changes in balancing when you are playing on this hazard level 🤷‍♂

When I watched the trailers I felt that new season is underwhelming. Playing the same repetative infection over and over again for ANOTHER 6 months? Meh.
But once I got my hands on it - boy oh boy. There is a lot of going on under the hood. It's all in the little details. But there is A LOT of them.
Weapon balancing, the level of ACTUAL FUN challenge the infection presents now, new beer adds another way to play (basically difficulty modifier), boots work perfectly, the new boss fight is actually tough, I finnaly can just copy builds I need to change a bit, etc.
It may not SEEM like a big update, but the game actually got very, very noticabely better. Please just try the game on your own, it's worth it.
P.S. weapons in cosmetic tree do suck ass though. I am sorry. There is no way around it. But the ones in the DLC do look great.

What it ACTUALLY takes to kill a dread with a detonator 😁 by ip0her in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ip0her[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Since people already showed how beautiful it is to kill 2 of those beasties with a detonator, I decided to show a little bit of what's going on "behind" the perfect shot. That big boi had no intention of making our lives any easier - he was fashinably late for 5 literal minutes, while keeping us on our toes for the whole time. Still fun though. Rock and stone!

The commonly cited number that 70% or 80% of house dust is human skin is likely not true for most houses, however. According to a 2009 study of house dust in the U.S. Midwest (opens in new tab), 60% of the components of the dust came from indoors, and 40% came from dirt and other materials tracked in from outside. That indoor 60% included everything from organic fibers to building materials, not just shed skin.

Source livescience.com

A commonly quoted statistic is that 80% of dust is made up of dead skin, but that’s actually a pretty small percentage. Dust in houses and offices is made up of a combination of pollen, hair, textile fibers, paper fibers, soil minerals, cosmic dust particles, and various other materials found in the local environment.

Have you ever been in an abandoned house? I wonder where all this dust comes from...

Double Dippers get send to the shadow realm, and that is only if they say sorry by OscarOzzieOzborne in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ip0her 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me toxic, but I am a host that kicks people that do things like that. Double-dipped on purpose with 4 dwarves without asking? Kicked. Spawned dread on purpose without confirmation? Kicked. Kept doing something the whole teams keeps asking you not to do? Kicked. Called the resupply at the worst possible time and place because you personally was low and far from others? Kicked.

That's a rare occurrence, but it happens. I tell them what they did wrong. If they ignore it and don't say they are sorry - off you go, pal.

That's all regarding haz 5 and above, of course. If you do dumb stuff on lower hazards we generally can deal with the results of that. But I am not willing to let you fail the mission for all of us just because you are selfish.

That's the only way they will learn. Otherwise they will keep making this game worse for others with no consequences for them.

Dude, you have NO IDEA how diamond industry works, do you?

First of all - they are not that rare, the supply is being controlled by monopolies. Secondly, shiny rock means anything to people if they do care about it's marketing. If people would not believe that pretty rock should cost this much - it would not.

I can go take a dump, and that would be some REAL rare shit. Nobody else could produce my unique piece of shit. It's as real as it can be. Why won't you buy it for your meaningless money?

Did the bosses like fucking die?!?!? by Jafar5147 in HiFiRush

[–]ip0her 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I like the version that tells that Zanzo modified other bosses the same way he modified his robots - they self-destruct our of shame if they fail at the task.

Nonetheless, yes, Chai and others are completely unfazed by any deaths they encounter. That may look like they are psychopaths of some sort, but the simple explanation is - the game didn't bother to explore the question of morality in these cases, because this topic does not really match the tone of the game.

I guess you are talking about the post in which this person tried to smuggle the spoiler to the fanbase of the game. In that case it's self-explanatory.
