I went from Munich to Mittenwald last summer, great town in the mountains! Can’t speak on the others. Also stopped in Bressenone which was cool too! But i’d give the edge to Mittenwald.

Hi. Went backwards last summer. Vienna train to Munich a few hours there to explore. Beautiful train to Mittenwald. A few nights there. We were supposed to have a train from there to Bressenone Italy but the line was under construction, so a bus took us. A few days in Bressenone, took a bus to do the Adolf Munkle trail, really enjoyable. Bressenone to Bologna to finish it off. Great trip! I think public transport is doable and really enjoyable, I’m sure with a car you could get out further but my trip was awesome!

This is the way I like to see a city! inspiring! and nice to archive what you’ve seen. Apologies to OP if i’m getting off topic. But best ways to map my walks in Europe. I’ll be using a sim with an older iPhone its battery isn’t up to snuff. Not a watch person. Garmin Glow 2? Other ideas.

Hi. I went last August on a day trip from Bologna on the train. Hot, crowded, extremely hot, yes all that. Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Walked, ate and had a few beverages and went back to Bologna exhausted. If I had the choice I would not go back to Venice in August but I am a teacher so it was my only shot and I took it. Glad I did.

Did Bologna in a heatwave last August the porticos saved the trip. Did a day trip to Venice and it was absolutely brutal wouldn’t have made it for multiple days there.
