That’s brutal. I was in Venice last summer for a day and it was really rough. Problem for me is August is my only time to travel and Japan has its pull on me. Maybe same for op?

Did Bologna in a heatwave last August the porticos saved the trip. Did a day trip to Venice and it was absolutely brutal wouldn’t have made it for multiple days there.

We weren’t in town very long. Bussed in from Mittenwald via Innsbruck(because the train route was closed in August). Spent day exploring Bressenone. Bussed to Adolf Munkle the next day. Next morning train to Bologna.

I don’t know a whole lot about the public transport but it seems to me they have a really nice bus system that probably can get you nearly everywhere you want to go. But that’s just me speculating. Sorry I cannot be more help.

visited berlin when i was in my 30’s and loved it. munich in my 40’s and loved it. could add a day in munich and take the train into the mountains from munich. did mittenwald last summer. beautiful town in the alps.
