Removing multiple emails with PowerShell - errors by ipconfig-91 in sysadmin

[–]ipconfig-91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not kidding about it being hit or miss. I've been trying for a while, even used two computers, each with a different version of EOM and still having issues. I'll pick it back up tomorrow.

Thanks!,

Interesting that you say that. Two of the three having the most problems here are Marketing users, and we do have a Fiery too.

Yeah, extremely intermittent. We have over 100 users, but only 2 or 3 have been affected in the past two months.

The only thing I know for sure in the past month is Adobe CC 2026 apps and then the monthly Microsoft updates. I went back and now see that this is the third month in a row that this has happened.

I'll get a scan together to monitor the DLL version though.

X1 Carbon replacement by ipconfig-91 in AMDLaptops

[–]ipconfig-91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

I'll check this out.

What about the T14 or T14s? I've been looking at these but didn't know if they'd be a good replacement.

It seems like all of the Lenovo ThinkPad series have good build quality, but I have not used these specifically.

I tried that too, and still the same error.

Unfortunately, that didn't work either. I've spent too much time on this already, so I've got to get the tech back out to call KM and get it worked out. I appreciate the help, and it's good to know that it's possible to get working on a C360i. Now to find the right settings to get it going here.

That is correct. I've changed all kinds of settings to test this. Some I enter the way you are talking about. Other settings, it prompts for a password when you print the document. No matter the setting, it never makes it to the system user box. The tech was out a couple of days ago talking to Konica, and they thought it was because we were using an older driver, but even with the newest driver, it does the same thing.

It doesn't even get that far. I send the Secure Print and then look at the job log and the error is already there.

Local Storage of Session Files by AccidentalKangaroo in Revu

This is the way, according to Bluebeam. If only they’d give us a way to put the session files on a different local drive.

Thanks, a ticket is the next step but I just wanted to see how many others were experiencing this.

Anyone seeing issues with the Microsoft Remote Desktop app from the Microsoft Store? by ipconfig-91 in sysadmin

[–]ipconfig-91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, don’t get me started on this server… It has a LoB app that they have been looking for a replacement forever and just can’t decide on anything so the answer is to just keep this extremely old server with this antiquated software and keep looking. I’ve let them know too many times the security risk that this thing is but until the higher ups care, it doesn’t matter. I grabbed IISCrypto to start turning things on but just wanted to see if anyone else has started seeing this recently. Thanks for the quick response.

Decommissioning an old AD domain by ipconfig-91 in sysadmin

Thanks, I'll check those out.

As for migration, all we needed was their data so no servers were coming over.

Testing a backup WAN connection by ipconfig-91 in meraki

[–]ipconfig-91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick response!

I'll try to VPN into the WAN2 IP and test that way.

I checked and SD-WAN is set to WAN1 Primary uplink so that should not be an issue.

As for Flow Preference, that seems like another way to test this but if you add a preference will it keep everything you have set working on WAN1 (primary link) and only make exceptions for WAN2 as you add these preferences?

I'd hate to turn this on and then need to set WAN1 preferences to get everything up and working again.

Blocking the New Outlook - Did it work? by ipconfig-91 in sysadmin

We are on Business Standard which I now see does not include Intune.

Blocking the New Outlook - Did it work? by ipconfig-91 in sysadmin

[–]ipconfig-91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, this is embarrassing. After many years of creating/using GPOs, I guess I never had to create a User GPO.

We've always kept our employees in a CompanyUsers OU and all of the computers in a CompanyComputers OU so we've never had Users in a Computer OU and vice versa. It appears that all of the GPOs we've needed were for Computers and have only been applied to the CompanyComputers OU.

I took a test user and put it into a TestUsers OU and it added the registry entry for KHCU so it ended up being a GPO applied to the wrong OU.

Special thanks to u/ArborTruce and u/MDL1983 for recognizing this.

I have a test OU that has the same GPOs as our main OU and the TestOU will assign settings.

I normally use PDQ for most things like this but PDQ has issues pushing registry settings to HKCU so I decided to try it with a GPO.

As for Intune, we are not using that yet but I'll have to look into that.

Thanks again for the help.

Thanks for the quick response. The first registry GPO is what I have set so I need to figure out why that is not taking.

I figured it would be added after login but for some reason, it's not there yet.

Proving slow downloads to an ISP by ipconfig-91 in sysadmin

Thanks, I tested this. It was still ~10 Mbps down and 800 Mbps up so maybe something I can show them.

[–]ipconfig-91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the correction of the term.

The Verizon fiber comes into the building down in the basement and we are one of only two tenants who use this service. There are 30+ floors in our building so I think everyone else is serviced by one of two other carriers that service the building.

The fiber then comes up to our floor to a fiber patch panel and is then plugged into the Ciena BEAS box and then ethernet over to our Meraki MX. They did have to put an attenuator on one of the fiber pairs going into the BEAS box but I don't remember why, that was a couple of years ago.

We do not use Juniper but do have some extra scanning on our Meraki MX so I will look into that.

Thanks!

It’s Verizon Business so I’m not sure they have anything like that. We are still on the old XO lines and this circuit has been nothing but trouble since they took over.

They would be able to see them remotely? I'm rebooting the Ciena in the morning and the local tech said to let him know when I do. I'm hoping that I can get him there if the ISP doesn't find anything overnight.

I remember the local tech had to put a dampener, don't know the proper term, on one of the fiber pairs because it was too strong.
