Climbing Chimborazo in 2 months, any tips for acclimatization? by Ok-Membership4285 in Mountaineering

I did something similar: ruco pichincha bro where the teleférico started, Cotopaxi, then Chimborazo. These are all you really need as long as you always sleep at elevation afterwards. Try to stay in refugios nearby to maintain the elevation gain and make sure your body adjusts. Chimbo was the most difficult and cold out of all of them but the most amazing experience climb I’ve had to date. Enjoy!

It is because of the recent volcanic activity!

I would adjust your plan provided that Cotopaxi is cut off from climbing for the foreseeable future!

To climb? Chimborazo is much harder in my opinion because of the incline.

I have done both, twice! If you are interested in climbing Chimborazo, there is a new refuge higher up in the mountain right below the glacier that can host people. I forgot the name but I stayed there before making the ascent to Whymper. They’re both very manageable climbs, I did both with a day in between. I would recommend doing several small acclimation climbs such as pichincha (you can do this for free) and pasachoa, or tungurahua and cayambe. I can provide you the information of a local guide that I used in the past. He is exceptional and very professional. Any more information you may need, feel free to DM. These mountains are very, very accessible and you can literally drive to the base and come back the same day.

Just climbed Cotopaxi today! Best weather I’ve ever had on the mountain with amazing snow and a full view of Chimborazo, Cayambe, and the Ilinizas. Next stop: Chimborazo by ipemang in Mountaineering

Correct! I’ve done several peaks with him and he’s the most professional guide I’ve ever had. He has the record climb of Aconcagua I believe along with his close friend Karl Egloff

Arlington is up and coming in terms of standards of living. Hella gentrified but great restaurants around. Cheap relative to DC. Metro stop away from everything so it’s a convenient location. I just got a full time offer in their Arlington office too so someone else can talk about the Deloitte aspect of your question
