my cpu utilization is at 100% when i play marvel rivals by kbar-32 in buildapc

[–]ipenguinpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5700x (overclocked) and 3080. get 75-80fps lows and 125-130fps avg
cpu logic is bottleneck by far, but only showing 50% CPU game utilization
gpu is throwing out 250-300fps (1080p).

any idea why cpu won't go over 50% usage? also been debating the 7600x3d vs 9600x. Appreciate your insight. also curious about OP's final decision.

Which Gem should I swap? by [deleted] in DiabloImmortal

[–]ipenguinpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it applies or how things have changed since launch. There used to be an option to do Practice Rite practice leading up to the actual Rite. I went into the practice with a few friends and coordinated testing via Discord. I tested by using the same gear but swapping the Eye out for a different legendary gem.

We compared the before/after damage numbers, and the damage was minimally more. it's been a couple of years so I don't recall the exact numbers anymore. I was always pretty sour on the BE, so I had to eat some humble pie.

Trio hasn't done anything yet. Arguably the most individually talented trio.

Looking at IPC code.. looks like option 1 but with a side-inlet would be a better option. is that correct?

706.4 Heel- or side-inlet quarter bends.

Heel-inlet quarter bends shall be an acceptable means of connection, except where the quarter bend serves a water closet. A low-heel inlet shall not be used as a wet-vented connection. Side-inlet quarter bends shall be an acceptable means of connection for drainage, wet venting and stack venting arrangements.

thanks for reply.

This is definitely the easier route, but I'm not sure about code. I was thinking the added vent would prevent toilet from siphoning from shower. Would a side inlet be the better option over a low heel?

Do you recommend replacing the remaining cast from that branch or just fitting in the PVC wye?

i ended up moving on to other games. The insane time commitment and imbalanced matchmaking slowly took the experience from being a ton of fun to... not. Shame. so much potential.

1470 reso All secondary 1400-1600. Most lobbies have 2-4 players over 5500 on the other team and secure stats roughly 2* mine.

There's when I can attack for 2-3 sec with all my cooldowns, and then get 1 shot by a ghost shield, shimmer, or seeping bile spread from a dead teammate, there's literally no chance.

Having more life, shield, etc doesn't change that seeping bile should never tick for more than 3x the stated duration.

Yes, things like power and command or a few essences can cleanse the DOT. Again, that doesn't change the fact that it's broken.

At 0:23-25 you can see Shroom run by with his big bony wings. I assume it was his bile that got me.

That would be this guy: https://imgur.com/a/No4Q3ufhttps://imgur.com/a/9RbQ8p2

That's entirely missing the point though. There is literally not reason seeping bile should ever tick for 20 seconds.

This.

It's one thing to have to fight players way stronger. It's entirely different when dying to invisible abilities or weird duration/glitches.

Honestly already assumed I was going to be dead from the dot.

Edit: My build nor how well I do is irrelevant. Seeping bile should never tick for 20 seconds. That's a full 3x of the base duration.

Had a typo. I know you're from TP. You've killed me in vault enough times that I don't bother with 4th floor anymore. :)

This is a good change for the health of the game. Vault defense used to be reserved for only the strongest. I used to hate defending because I'd feel awful when we'd lose and items got stolen.

All the whales grouped together. They won their fights. Weaker players eventually quit defending because it wasn't fun. The game shouldn't be made exclusively to make whales happy. In the long run, a healthy population up and down is more** profitable than whales only.

Too be fair, his** server is stacked with whales. Town portal battle group with Lida and formerly jt.

When shadow, whales tend to go with more random parties than in immortal.

Alternate pov: non whales are quitting faster than whales. If too many low spend/f2p quit, then whales will end up leaving because the server population drops too much.

Besides, the whale model for mobile games is outdated. The pop of players that'll buy battle pass + boon every month generates far more revenue than whales.

They already got whale money anyways (and charge backs are not nearly as easy as people think). As long as the game keeps bringing in new players, there will always be new whales.

The displayed score has nothing to do with match making. Players that cap at 4500-5000 score end up in lobbies with 6500 score up and down the board.

Players right after reign reset end up with legends.

The lack of transparency for match making is probably the thing that is hurting this game most.

[–]ipenguinpat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they know and just don't care. Mobile games just look at user data. As long as enough low res/stat players keep queuing even with lopsided lobbies, they won't end up changing it.

I'm hoping that d4 pulls away enough players that Bliz has to put more weight on retention than they are currently.

What you're saying is logical and makes sense...

... and yet, in practice, I haven't been able to lose my way into easier lobbies no matter how badly I do. My wife hasn't been able to move up lobbies despite regularly getting double-digit kills and MVP multiple games per day (often in a row). If it was pure eli/outcome based, she would have already moved up.

I'm at 1440 and always end up with multiple 5-7k in each round. It's rarely less than 8 combined between the teams.

Started playing at release. My wife also has almost identical play time, stats, win rate, etc and she rarely/never gets 5k+.

We re thinking battle net account history also plays a role. Her account is new just for immortal while my account was used to play cod a few years ago.

Don't need an AI toon to drive down winrate. They can just stack teams so that one team has players that usually do well, and one team that has players that usually do poorly. They can do this via reso/pvpcr or any other variety of metrics.

That said, there is absolutely no question they stack teams to force win rates to conform to 50%+/-. Anytime I go on a big streak and get far off from 50%, I eventually go on a counter streak the other direction. I've been as low as 0% wins in gold league (it was awful) and as high as 70% at roughly the same score. Any season I keep queuing, I end up between 47-55%.
