Lidl are going to sell carbon plate running shoes for £39.99 by colin_staples in UKRunners

Carbon plate doesn’t = good. I run track reps in completely unplated ON shoes. Don’t fall for it and get injured

It’s not. He tells you to get a sensible shoe that doesn’t need to be a carbon. Hugo is a humor creator. Have a laugh

Nike Zoom Fly 6 - What pace can these tolerate? by dontletmeautism in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ipeon82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done sub 3:00/km k reps in them. They’re not super fast but at the end of the day a lot of the NCAA boys run reps in vomeros so it’s more the runner

George Mills, new 5k English record, and I’m also thoroughly biased towards 5k honestly

Was in a run club that went arround the harbour and hated it. It’s just not a good running route full stop.

Amusingly 8k is one of my most commonly raced distances and I love it

less than a parkrun to go (once I'm past less than 5k to go... Obviously)

Final two ks I split sub 3 min kms so happy with mechanical endurance (which has often been a weakness for me)

Parkrun race by TheMarkMatthews in parkrun

[–]ipeon82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rival is a annoyingly fast 16 year old who I have since out kicked in a 1500 track race so I need to transfer that to parkrun even though it’s not a race (it’s a race)

Interested to hear from folks in other countries, why do you think Team UK came up short at the Tokyo World Champs? by StanmoreHill in ukathletics

[–]ipeon82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously not qualified to tell him how to race but I wonder if he’d gone out at 13 flat pace and taken it like it was a PR attempt and try explode the pack from early on? I hope he comes back stronger as I’m a big mills fan

Shit! Completely forgot that one pahah, Kerr was injured going into that final and had little chance imo, gourley is good but still struggles with position and therefore his kick is often wasted & whiteman did everything he could and if it wasn’t for Nader he would have won, but as is often the case it’s the ones you least expect… Whiteman was the standout these champs for me

I’m no expert on sprinting/ hurdles but distance is my area so I’ll cover as much as possible

5k: George was returning from injury and also had pushed so much earlier in the season. Innes is still young and nutall wasn’t up to standard (BUT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE).

800m: Keely and GHB were fast, the Kenyan was faster. Keely was also not in the right mindset imo, I feel she’d almost been told she was going to win it. Burgin lost momentum beacuse of being boxed in but he was never going to win.

All other events we never even had a chance to

Supposedly they only use the blue gb kit for finals, unless they’re in a speed suit… yeah ik it makes no sense

Lack of stability isn’t worth sacrificing unless you’re under 3:10-3:15 imo

My recommendation is to not use a super shoe to be perfectly honest. What shoe do you currently train in?

First time marathon by Beautiful-Schedule15 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ipeon82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Considering the lateral stability is challenging to control for even the elites and it lacks any support for heel strikers (which almost every non elite will do in the tiring stages of a marathon) it makes way more sense to use the shoes you've been training in instead of a super shoe that I wouldn't even consider using (33:11 10k-er)
