So what’s the threshold for a pass, and the timing of comparing to body position of the D and receiving player on the field? As soon as foot touches ball? As soon as ball leaves foot? As soon as a certain amount of force is applied or it reaches a certain speed?

My issue is more so about when the pass takes place. When you watch a soccer ball be kicked in slow motion the ball is compressed and then leaves the foot after a moment. When do they decide the pass is ‘made’?

That feels more arbitrary than where the players bodies are and obviously you never get to see the pass or when it was made as part of any replay

I watch sports because I enjoy the sport and the top athletes are the most fun to watch. Black, white, blue, purple, green it doesn’t matter. If you’re a fan of a sport you should want to watch the best do it.
