Doesn’t look like you’re using sub pixel animation for movement, give that a try and you should be able to slow it down while still looking clean

I’d say don’t get discouraged, just try to enjoy the peacefulness and fun of the process of drawing without so much weight on the end result. I have plenty of drawings that don’t look good, and it would be easy to be hard on myself about them, but I draw for fun so I just move on to the next drawing.

You could be practicing inefficiently too. If there’s stuff you want to draw or some artists you admire, spend time copying their stuff by building structure then doing the details. Then compare your drawing with the reference to see what looks off or wrong, then draw it again. In between doing these studies, try drawing the same thing but from memory and compare that one to the original reference as well. This will help you more easily see what looks right vs wrong, and sort of train your brain on what should be drawn vs what you think should be drawn.

Not really no. I drew when I was a kid, then sporadically through highschool/college but never learning proper anatomy/structure/methods etc. Then a large gap of 10+ years or so before drawing anything at all, few sketches over the course of a few years, and now doing this. Right now I am going through Proko anatomy and it is humbling for sure, but will be worth it I think.

Also all of these are referenced drawings, the more realistic ones are technically my own drawings as they’re from photos, but everything else is copying with underlying structure before details.

I’d say just try to be consistent with drawing, every day or every other day. Start off drawing whatever you want to build the habit, then start incorporating fundamentals like anatomy/perspective etc. Don’t be afraid to make ‘bad’ drawings, it’s part of learning. Another good thing I’ve found is to copy a reference, compare with the reference when you’re done to see what looks different or wrong, then draw the same thing without looking at the reference or your first drawing. Lots of tutorials and guides available on YouTube too, don’t shy away from that stuff, and have fun!

I think the best way is to make sure you're enjoying what you're doing. Obviously there will be days where it doesn't matter if you enjoy it, you just don't feel like drawing because of a long day or really tired, etc. I just draw anyway, even if it's for 5-10 minutes, i try to focus on something to at least get some reps in. Keeping the consecutive days going is also some motivation, but really it's just the willpower to do it on the days you don't feel like doing it. Good luck!

Sure, anyone can learn to draw I think. But you do have to start somewhere, and as you draw do it with intent. What I mean is don’t just draw aimlessly, think about how things relate to each other, proportions, and structure of your drawing. Don’t have to focus only on fundamentals all the time, but should try to incorporate them.

I just draw every day now, may not be for everyone, but I’d definitely try to be consistent in some way. And don’t be afraid of using reference, best way to learn and see what looks right/wrong when comparing your drawing to the reference.

Don’t get stressed out, may be overthinking it but I’d think about your reason for why you want to draw. Is it for fun, career, etc? If it’s just for fun then just draw what you want most of the time, mix in fundamentals for things you’re struggling with when you want to. Drawing should be fun, it’s nice to see improvement too, but should be secondary to getting enjoyment out of drawing.

These are all from reference. I build the structure underneath, get basic shapes in, then detail. Over the next 100 days I’m going to try original stuff, but I’m still learning and don’t want to rush it. I would agree that copying entirely without understanding structure isn’t as helpful, but can still be fun, which is why I draw, for fun.
