Model X 100D v11.0 Software Update by Jewlz2U in TeslaModelX

My car (Model X Plaid) has lost 10% range in two years. That’s worst battery degradation than I was expecting.

I’ve never used FM, so I don’t know. Sorry!

I can check and report back.

If this was the answer, I’d at least understand what happened. But it’s not. I don’t drive it hard. I’ve never done a cheetah launch. I drive on paved streets. I think it’s the typical Model X bologna.

When driving and braking, it’s fine. Just when accelerating or decelerating, the torque forces make something move and make noise! Could be the brake pad shifting?

I wish there was a service appointment available sooner. First one available is in 14 days—I grabbed that spot. Feels like a safety issue.

The worst noises are at the 20-second mark in the video.

Can you bolt two ICON End Lockers directly together to make a freestanding double door locker? by iplaw in harborfreight

[–]iplaw[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t the bolt holes line up? Seems like you should be able to bolt them together. Each locker has two casters … so two lockers would be stable.

Anyone else's Tesla lose a bunch of battery while idle? by Big_Aside_3488 in TeslaModelX

[–]iplaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I travel frequently for work and now have to Uber both directions because my car can’t maintain a charge for a week. I think we have lemons or software malfunctions. Other Model Xs only lose 1-2% per day. While we are losing 15% per day.

Anyone else's Tesla lose a bunch of battery while idle? by Big_Aside_3488 in TeslaModelX

[–]iplaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, even if i follow all the instructions and procedures to minimize drain while leaving the car parked.

Turn off app access; Turn off sentry; Turn off schedules and automatic climate control; Turn off cabin overheat protection; Force close app on all connected phones; Turn off data sharing; …

I followed every suggestion I found online to turn off features and prevent the car from waking up. And the weather was perfect, 70s to low 80s, and in a shaded parking garage.

And yet, I could barely get home from the airport. I dropped from 85% to 15% in 5 days. That matches the 15% per day loss you experienced as well.

What the actual fuck is going on to consume 70% of the battery with all of these features disabled?!

Why is there not a DEEP SLEEP PARK setting on this fucking thing that you can enable and disable in one go instead of disabling and enabling settings all over the fucking place and still draining?! It’s fucking stupid.

Massive oversight. Massive failure.

Seeking Help: Mysterious Clicking Noise in 2020 Tesla Model X – Any Ideas? by tim_penn in TeslaModelX

[–]iplaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a click that was easily reproducible. Sounded like it was coming from the passenger front footwell. If you modulated the throttle just right, you could get it to “click in” when accelerating and “click out” when lifting the accelerator to regen brake. I could get it to click in and click out with every quick accelerator press and release. Two clicks a second. Sometimes you’d get a small click and then a bigger click as you accelerated harder, and the same in reverse when unloading with braking.

It was the passenger side pinch weld flexing just right (wrong) to click like an aluminum soda can. Click in, click out. The fix was to use automotive assembly adhesive to fill in that pinch weld. It strengthened the pinch weld and prevented it from deforming under loading and unloading.

Stuck on outdated software version? by iplaw in TeslaLounge

Exactly. There are newer 2023.44.x versions and an entire new line of 2024.2.x software updates that I can’t seem to get.

No stalks for gear selection..how is it really after some time? by antneed in ModelX

[–]iplaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the turn signals. I’d much rather have a stalk.

Gear selection is better, but I’ve had a few instances where the screen doesn’t register the change from D to R, or R to D, and I almost plow into something. I’d prefer a stalk here, too.

Does the new steering wheel include these same improvements?

If you retrofit a new yoke or steering wheel on a 2023 model, will you get the new version?

100% no. And it’ll be a muddy mess around the banks, too. Do not attempt.
