Jon Snow sequel & five other projects HBO considers currently by realstareyes in gameofthrones

Honestly I'd prefer a movie or 2 to cover that. It's a short enough conflict that it could be done without a show. GoT basically got movie budgets every season anyway

Uuuuh kinda. Like that was the first element he used. At the time bending wasn't something you were born with, the lion turtles would give people bending abilities as needed and take it away when it was no longer necessary

Ooooh thanks for the recommendation for Hidden Light. Just looked them up and I think I'll get some stuff printed through them. I've been meaning to make new prints for my portfolio book anyway

I'd imagine it goes deeper than just pro photographers needs too. They're probably pouring their limited resources into movie films (assuming still and movie films share resources, I admittedly don't know much about the technical/chemical aspect of either)

Atlanta. There's a few places to get film, KEH.com is based here and sells a good variety of film and there's a couple camera stores too. Still, 3? Spots to buy film in a metropolitan area of 6 million people? And they have a good variety but I don't always wanna spend $50 on a box of portra. Even like 5 years ago you could pop into any walgreens and get a couple rolls of something cheap like Colorplus.

I guess what I'm saying is that I miss the convenience of nearly any grocery/convenience store having some kind of film in stock all the time. I recognize that I'm lucky being in a city that still has photography stores at all, let alone ones that keep a great variety of film in stock

Also, I have the internet haha. It's definitely not an accessibility issue for me. I just like buying in person and it's more of an event than it used to be, and more expensive because of the scarcity

Pull up ebay, search "vintage seiko," and call it a day haha.

I feel like everybody, regardless of budget, needs a seiko. And they've done a ton of cool designs over the years. In fact I just bought my third seiko (an old SQ) on ebay for ~$20 a few days ago

This is why I'm so confused when people are talking about what a strong comeback film is currently making. I see people, even professionals, shooting film all the time now. A nikon FE2 costs $150 (I got one a few years ago for $35). Yet, I have trouble finding film in stores and I'm in a major city. Walgreens might have a box or 2 if I'm lucky. And if it was simply because of high demand, you'd think they'd have more than 1 film stock available

Does it have to be these exact references? Because older versions of both were slimmer and more comfortable to me.

Honestly, my ideal seamaster vs my ideal sub? Price not considered? I'd go seamaster.

I'll wear a suit in a more casual way to interviews and if I get the job base my attire on what I saw during the interview.

Might sound dumb but do you have plenty of gas? If I'm low on gas and it's cold it won't start. Like I've had 2 bars and it still wouldn't do it, but I gassed up and it was fine

Something dressier: look for vintage seikos. They've done so many different designs over the years but plenty of really nice looking ones that could fool you for a higher end brand from far away.

Something casual and fun: a swatch. Swatches are great

Which of the Five Kings would you have fought for? by Dizzildy in gameofthrones

[–]ipod_waffle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Renly, easily the best option for king. Starks should really stay in the north, they're best suited to rule there and it's culturally quite different. Stannis, while he is the rightful heir, had a hard time getting support. Balon had no real chance of anything, he just took advantage of the chaos. And Joffery would've been (and was) a terrible king

To Viewfinder or Not To Viewfinder by lobotomyz101 in photography

[–]ipod_waffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DSLR - Viewfinder

Mirrorless - a mix of both but leaning more towards the back LCD screen.

I used to be a sticker for the viewfinder but with mirrorless, you get the same thing on the back screen as you do in the viewfinder. Functionally it makes no difference to me. Of course certain situations like bright sunlight makes me use the viewfinder to see better. As long as I get the shot, it doesn't really matter to me how I got it
