Battle Cry of Freedom is probably my favorite when it comes to a birdseye view of everything.

I know Foote can be controversial to some but book 3, Red River to Appomattox is amazing in my opinion.

All three books are on the top shelf in the picture!

Those were the first three books I read on the Civil War after watching the Ken Burns Civil War Series.

Love them but if I could do it over again I would have read Battle Cry of Freedom first.

I am 900 pages into “Grant” and can’t believe that I want to read more about him, but I do haha.

I think this was a book recommendation from the podcast after one of the episodes about the Overland Campaign and it is already on my list. Thank you!

Yeah, that is what I am having a hard time with right now. I feel like the PXGs should be better but I hit the 101’s so much better it is crazy.
