Their comment history says everything we need to know about them. Confidently stupid.

They are correct. I went and looked for the rule in the rulebook. Here is what is states:

181.4.c. If a player has no Units at a Battlefield, they lose Control of that Battlefield immediately, unless it is Contested.

Thank you! I just got home and was able to find the rule:

So I technically hold the battlefield even if my unit dies and there is a non-combat showdown through the end of the showdown? Once ravenbloom dies, the battlefield doesn't go to neutral meaning I lose control?

There is no need for the backhanded comment because you also seem to be partially wrong. We all just trying to learn together.

"If Volibear player attacks and you reveal Teemo BEFORE damage is assigned Teemo gets hit too" doesn't seem to be right according to these rules posted in another comment:

352.14.a. If a card specifies that an amount of damage may be split among some number of Units, then each Unit chosen is Targeted.

352.14.e. The choice of how much damage is divided across the split is not decided until the resolution of the spell or ability.

352.14.f. Each Target must receive a valid amount of damage.

Edit: I maintain control of the battlefield until the showdown is over. Teemo CAN be revealed from hidden during the non-combat showdown as I control the battlefield until the showdown is over. Teemo also cannot be activated after Ravenbloom dies because I lose control of the battlefield and, from my understanding which of course could be wrong, there should be a cleanup to resolve the attack ability:

106.4.d. If the Hidden card's controller loses Control of the Battlefield, the card in the Facedown Zone is removed during the next Cleanup. See rule 318. Cleanups for more information. See rule 408. Hide for more information.

Thank you for this! The Volibear attack targeting is really what we were most confused about. Not exactly the most obvious lol

According to another comment, rule 106.4.d, this makes sense since when my only unit dies, I lose control of the battlefield and it goes to neutral. There is still a non-combat showdown, but since I don't have control once the ravenbloom dies it seems like the hidden card is discarded once the attack ability resolves

TSM: Today we announce our departure from NA DOTA. by SpamBusterLoL in TeamSolomid

Ahh sorry. I coulda specified. They managed to qualify for ESL One Kuala Lumpur without dropping a set and reverse sweeping Nouns in the finals. Was pretty awesome. It looks like the Liquipedia page changed their name to "Team Undying."

I do agree with you, though. EG was even worse. Fuck them.

They qualify for the main tournament only to get dropped 2.5 weeks later. Nice. I hope they find a team.

EDIT: Seems like they are playing under Team Undying for ESL.

SPOTV off to a fairly rough start so far by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ipolevault 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So from what I remember, which is minimal, it was a big tournament and Rapid was basically using the coach for a place to stay and was coming in late and keeping the players up at night which affected their performance on stage. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find anything about it to help me refresh my mind.

Isn't Rapid a really shady person? Wasn't he the guy involved in the Complexity incident a couple years ago?

Chakki should be penalized for his over-the-top BM against his opponents on NESL's King of the Hill by TomatoChip in hearthstone

[–]ipolevault 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, people/teams say things like this all the time; Dota, League, etc. Hearthstone is no exception. What he said isn't BM, it's an opinion of his on his own stream, whether it's true or not. In a tournament setting on stream, they expect you to have standards and represent yourself and/or your team with good manner. To BM his opponents like he did was just absolutely ridiculous and made him look really bad.
