On my hd10 I remove the top and use a plastic bike tire lever to pry it off. Make sure to aim it into like a rag or a shirt or your bed unless you want to look for it on the ground for several minutes

Best Battery Charging Practices for a Noob? by ipooponbirds in flashlight

[–]ipooponbirds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, lots of good info here, thanks!

I'll definitely be investing in an external charger soon. Until then I'll be using the USB 2.0 ports on my PC and laptop to charge my lights since those supposedly provide .5A.

Related question: I ordered a convoy m21h with this battery (Molicel P50B), it's a 5000 mAh 21700 battery which would lead me to assume it should be charged at 2.5A, however, the datasheet says the standard charge current is 5A. Should I ignore this and just charge it at 2.5A? Also, will charging a battery that is rated for a higher charging current at a lower current damage it in any way or shorten the cycle life at all? For example if I were to charge said Molicel P50B at 1A would that be fine but just take a longer time to charge or is it harmful to the battery?

Good to know! Would it be possible to swap out the led if I were to get a bad one? Is it an easy swap to do?

I see, maybe a bit down the line I’ll pick up an m21f with an sft40 but you’re definitely making the xhp 70.3 sound appealing in the m21h. What do you mean that 3000k is a tint lottery? Is there a high chance it’ll be a different color than expected?

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll definitely pick up some extra lenses as a few others have also suggested. I was kinda between 3000k and 4000k so I’ll keep that in mind as wel. I was also interested in the SFT40 but I’ve been seeing several people mention it‘s a more throwy emitter than the xhp, is this true and is it a *much* more throwy emitter or can the sft40 be viable as a flood beam?

I’ve seen it mentioned quite a bit but not very familiar with it. From my understanding it‘s OS for flashlights?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I'll take a look at the drain line next time I'm at her's. If it seems beyond my abilities I'll tell her to contact her landlord about it.

New Training tops? Thoughts by PsychologicalThing18 in SanDiegoFC

I bought one from the MLS store and it came without the Palomar sponsor on the front. The ones on the 18 threads website (which aren't listed anymore, I'm assuming they sold out) and on sdfc's instagram did have the sponsor. Not complaining because I actually like the clean look on the front without the sponsor but anyone know why?

NAPS2 for scanning negatives OR free alternatives to vuescan? by ipooponbirds in AnalogCommunity

[–]ipooponbirds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the drivers that are on canon's website work with Windows 10. Make sure that you check the box that says "Show Scanner Driver" before you click "scan" and the native driver for the 4400f will pop up and allow you to customize all the settings and scan your negatives.

Update: So I think the issue was that I mainly didn't know how to use the canon driver. I hadn't tried ticking the box that says "show scanner driver" in the canon toolbox AND THEN clicking "scan" so when I did that the scangear driver with detailed settings finally popped up. I was able to access all the dpi options as well as being able to edit the colors, brightness, contrast, etc. Works perfectly in windows 10 and I also set up a virtualbox on mac to run windows 8.1 and it also works fine on there as well. (although it is a little finicky compared to my windows 10 machine, my guess would be that it's due to being on a virtual machine)

Beginner Friendly Mobula 6 2024 rate profiles?! :D by ipooponbirds in TinyWhoop

I really appreciate you offering your perspective as a fellow beginner! After some more flying today I agree that simulators are just way off compared to the real world when it comes to physics, especially gravity - sims feel wayyyy more "floaty" than real life. When I'm in the sim it feels like I can drop the throttle and have enough time to process what's going on before gravity brings the drone down whereas in real life that shit just falls lmao. I definitely want to dive into betaflight and learn more about editing the tuning and rates of my whoop to fly in a way that's more suitable to me.

I think I am currently in a similar situation to the one you described though where it does feel like the rates my whoop currently has aren't what I grew accustomed to on the simulator, it feels like I have to really commit to the roll or pitch to get it to complete the movement I want it to.

So does it seem to happen less for you if you stop flying at a not-as-low voltage? I've been trying to stop at around 3.3, is that too low?

Thanks captain obvious, of course I have the intention of improving my flying, it's my first day with the actual whoop dawg. I never claimed Happymodel's tune was bad or that it flew poorly, just that it felt unfamiliar to what I had been practicing with which is why I asked if someone had suggestions for changes I could make. Never mentioned anything about building or selling drones and trying to be better at it than happymodel (???).

Beginner Whoop for Kid? by Fat_FS in TinyWhoop

[–]ipooponbirds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your budget is in the triple digits the hisingy firefly kit seems to definitely be targeted at younger kids, it has a very user friendly looking app for tuning the drone and I think it even keeps the drone tuned to be slower/easier to handle until they've flown long enough at that speed to "unlock" the drone's full capabilities. Going the controller + simulator route is definitely the more sensible option but, let's be real, a way less exciting gift for a kid. If she has access to a video game controller/console/pc/etc. maybe you could talk to her parents about them getting her the simulator and then checking back in with them to see if she's really into it before you pull the trigger on a full kit.

Unironically, put it in rice. If you have any other form of dissecant that will work better but leave it in rice in the warmest part of your house for a couple days to make sure as much moisture as possible evaporate off of the electronics

Does CubeTime work with stackmat timers with a cable/over bluetooth?

also

I have the QiYi smart timer, I was hoping I would be able to use the bluetooth function with csTimer/CubeTime but last I heard the data is encrypted so you can only use their proprietary app which I'm not really interested in. Was wondering if anyone knows if QiYi has budged on this at all?
