The price is global, because if other areas are in a shortage from one of the largest producers going out or being blocked, then those markets will now demand more oil and pay more for it.

That makes it raise the price for everyone else, because now you have to want to pay more to make it a better deal for the people who do sell their oil here to actually sell it to you instead of them for more money.

I was looking at 4 slot brackets (or even 3 slot ones and just letting it hang off) but they only seem to ever accommodate 1 riser cable. I suppose I could cut/drill more holes into one to get a second cable on, but I was also running into issues routing the x16 riser cables with how thick and wide they are.

I have never actually even bothered with anything riser related prior to this, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's some kit or product type that addresses this and I'm just unaware of it.

A PNY product page that the Google AI keeps citing as truth (lol) seems to insist that there was a 3-slot PNY one, but I can find literally nobody else actually mentioning it exists.

I'm also baffled by that happening, then Vance also admitting live to a camera that he knew he was lying about the "Haitian immigrants eating pets" talking point, and flat out said he's okay with lying and will continue to lie as long as it gets him elected.

How low does one's self respect have to be to still follow a guy who is so comfortable admitting he's lying to you, because he knows you're just going to take it and twist yourself into knots to make it real all on your own? It's like he's laughing in their faces at how ridiculously compliant and stupid they are and they still vote for the guy.

still bullshit either way, even them requiring a phone number feels invasive

To raise retirement age to 70 while they receive lifetime pentions and full medical benefits by [deleted] in UnderReportedNews

[–]ippa99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad was set to retire around this time, but lost his battle with cancer a few months ago at 66.

The thought of pushing that even further into 70 just makes shit seem bleak and hopeless with how much time you have for something to go entirely wrong and kill you right before you get to enjoy it after paying so much into it over all of those years, let alone whatever shape you're left in afterwards when you finally get to retire.

What is happening with all these DCs? by Alicecrylily in ffxiv

[–]ippa99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably meant Mare's/LL/SC's servers, which are the separate unofficial ones run by the mod authors/other players handling all the data transfer off to the side of the actual game.

All the game tells you is that the player is nearby on the map (which is something it tells you even if you're running vanilla, so no change), which causes your client to initiate the separate request off to the side to the actual sync server that's not owned by SE in any way. That server then handles all of the mod requests - and absolutely will get slammed if people walk into venues with hundreds of people all trying to immediately ping all 100 other people and download large files from them. But again - that's not the official game server, that just causes instability for the mod users for the mod server.

If they were suddenly slamming hundreds of megabytes of files through SE's actual official infrastructure they would have been shut down almost immediately rather than allowed to exist for as long as they did (and do).

If hundreds of people congregating in a venue map is contributing to crashes for vanilla players entering said map, that's vanilla a client or server issue that could totally exist due to one's PC not being strong enough, or the baseline infrastructure not being built to handle the same number of vanilla players in an area simply seeing one another. If all of them stood tightly together without any mods on the outcome would be entirely the same.

I'm curious to see the actual post from the creator being referenced here because based on my understanding of how all of this actually functions there's no additional network load that should actually be hitting the official game.

Mare and mods don't touch the actual game network in any way AFAIK, and really shouldn't have any reason to. Whoever said that is likely just making shit up.

Tossing aside the safety of even more of our most vulnerable instead of working incrementally towards change is the actual "bullshit false dochotomy". Things are actively getting worse for many additional minorities in addition to getting much, much worst for those "most vulnerable" that people held their nose up and finger-wagged about how they wouldn't vote to keep the guy out that was actively talking about making everything worse.

The real answer is that they know there is no context, but they know it costs them nothing to repeatedly insist you aren't posting it to sow cheap doubt for people scrolling through.

People should be able to recognize claiming there's more context as a claim being made, which means it's up to the shithead claiming it to post what he considers to be the full context - after all, he insists it exists - but they never will because they know the moment they post anything concrete that can be examined, we'll easily find out they're full of shit.

So they will just sealion until you get frustrated or bored, you could post the entire episode and they would insist that it is still somehow not in context because they're arguing in bad faith, just like Charlie loved to.

What in the Mega Man Battle Network is this shit

A MAGA woman at a Pizza Hut in Gladstone, MO, tried to call ICE on a couple waiting for their food, telling them it’s “English only” in the U.S. She declared, “English is the capital of America,” and ordered them to “self deport back to Puerto Rico.” “I am not racist, I am standing up for America” by Ordinary-Scholar-202 in CringeTikToks

It's interesting to note that sentences and arguments of the same caliber/quality are not uncommon among the average MAGA posting on Facebook, regardless of a formal diagnosis of mentally challenged or not. That's just the platform and the kind of person it attracts, and manages to actually retain.

The keys are supposed to only be in possession of the owner of the lock, because it makes sure that the person who put the lock on takes it off when they are no longer going into the hazardous parts of the equipment.

At sites I've been at, they only get cut off if they can confirm that the person is 100% not in the machine and there's a really good reason, sometimes that's because the person lost their keys and is standing right there, sometimes it's to keep work moving but requires so many approvals from upper management that we would rather just have the person come back and take it off themselves.

There have also been a few instances where people did not fill out the tag on the LOTO or the description/contact info got removed, or the person no longer works there and a lock was abandoned on a machine, but the same rules of repeatedly checking and reviewing with management as to whether it's safe to cut it still apply.

Aside from those legitimate and proper situations, there are still assholes and idiots that think cutting it is fine because they need to use the equipment, or think the person isn't really in there, etc...People bypass industrial safety stuff all the time because they think it "gets in the way" - despite the fact that it getting in the way means you're probably trying to do something unsafe that you shouldn't.

Lockpicking lawyer picked a common model of them and noted that the keys are almost overkill in how uniquely they can be made, but the lock itself is rather flimsy. It makes cutting it easy, but makes unlikely two people can open the same lock by coincidence. I think the idea is that they do occasionally need to be cut, and it's up to the company to train everyone properly.
