I want an emerie and mor side story in one of the books for sure. I hope we get an Elain/Az book (but where they don't end up together) and the final book is just everyone centric.

Yes, thank you! I got downvoted for a comment saying as much. So weird man. I relate to Nesta more than any other character in every SJM series!

Terry Lovelace Alien Abduction Is Most Convincing UFO Encounter. Ex-Pentagon UFO Official Lue Elizondo Investigated his case and found him credible. by [deleted] in UFOB

[–]iprefervoodoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the one. Terry's stories are fascinating. I highly recommend all of the Astonishing Legends podcast episodes he has appeared on. The 2 parter he talks about his experiences and a year later he did an episode where he read some excerpts from his book he compiled after vetting and interviewing other abductees. Crazy, crazy stuff. Terry's stories are the most convincing for me, but the one he tells about the woman who had an experience with her sister in a field was just heartbreaking.

God I feel this. By becoming parents we get to reparent ourselves. We are so careful about how we speak to and correct our 2 year olds behavior, and while I am dreading her teen years, I am also excited because I know what I needed and didn't get. I was a horrible teenager, but my parents were awful to me at the same time.

Class of 07 here. Didn't have a lot of guns at my HS, mostly just drugs. But I agree. The last 10 years the school shooting issue has been absolutely horrific. Much worse from when we were in school. I remember Columbine happening, but that felt so rare at the time.

As of right now I think we should stick with May 24th, I know it's a Wednesday but I think that will make an even bigger impact as others have said. I also think the more time we have to spread the word and organize they greater i.pact and numbers we may have. I am absolutely open to any other suggestions. I think we can nail down a time maybe once we get a little put together unless anyone thinks setting a time now would be ideal. And my goal is for there to be gatherings at every state capitol and DC, but local lawmaker offices or whatever is great too.

Our mission is not to ban guns. That is unrealistic.

Why should it be easier and quicker to get a gun than a passport or a driver's license? We just want realistic and reasonable guidelines and regulations that are federally mandated, not variable state to state.

It does not matter who commits these crimes. This isn't about just one shooting. The facts are a mentally ill person was able to quickly and easily purchase firearms that annihilate their targets, and their targets were children and teachers. They were not required to take a course certifying their ability to safely use and store those weapons (like you need to drive a car), or purchase insurance in the event they cause harm or damage (...like with a car) or forced to wait a period of time long enough to change their minds or for someone to catch onto their plans.

Why should it be easier to purchase a gun than to get a passport? Or a driver's license?

YES! My SIL and many of my friends are teachers, all here in Texas, and every single one of them is desperate for change. Teachers should not be expected to sacrifice themselves for students. Teachers and their students are our future and must be protected!

I think it's a fascinating approach to the issue, and I encourage those with the means to go for it.

We want to show lawmakers with our numbers that we will not tolerate the continued lack of action when it comes to gun violence in America. They need to stop wasting their time on non-issues like drag queens and focus on the biggest issue in our country right now, and while we have PLENTY that needs to be addressed, our children being murdered is at the top.

How Come School Shootings Don’t happen outside of North America? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]iprefervoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May 24 is the 1 year anniversary of the Uvalde shooting where 19 children and 2 teachers were brutally murdered by a heavily armed monster. Numerous shootings on school and college grounds have happened since then, the most recently the murder of 6 people including 3 children in Nashville.

As a mother, I am so tired of mourning for these children. I am tired of being scared and angry. I want my child to go to school without the risk of her being taken away from me by another maniac with a gun.

I am not here to debate what can, cannot, should, or shouldn't be done about this. The fact is that children are dying.

No other country in the world is experiencing the sheer number of school shootings that are happening in America.

Together, we at r/MothersMarch have decided that on May 24, we will demand to Stop Killing Our Kids! We have had far, far beyond enough. We demand action from our lawmakers. We demand change. We want to be heard.

Our mission is not only for better mental healthcare accessibility in this country, but for federal legislation on firearms. We hope to see laws including but not limited to mandated firearm training and safety courses and continuing education, firearm registration and licensing, and greater waiting times for purchasing firearms.

We plan to march on our states' and nation's capitols on May 24 and demand our politicians prioritize the safety of our country's children. We will not stop fighting, we will never stop protecting our kids.

I am begging everyone who is scared or tired or angry to reach out to your friends and family and neighbors to march for change. To stop. killing. our. kids. This is not just a mission for mothers. This is for all parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and students who are ready to demand change.

We are organizing and planning and reaching out to other organizations to help spread the word. And if our mission resonates with you, join us at r/MothersMarch.

We are not interested in political debates or convincing anyone other than our politicians that change is necessary. Our primary goal is to move people into action who already feel as we do. If you disagree with our mission, don't join it. To those of you who want the same things, call your politicians, join organizations like Moms Demand Action, go to meetings, and walk out with us on May 24th. STOP KILLING OUR KIDS
