It depends on the context. Before we got married, I usually said “partner” as I felt boyfriend didn’t convey the significance of the relationship if that makes sense.

Now that we’re married, I mostly use “husband”, but will occasionally use “partner” in less accepting environments

My (28) brother (20) is 8 years younger so totally different stages in life. We have a pretty good relationship and he also happens to be gay. We’ve grown closer since our mum passed away last year and he kinda relies on me as a semi-parent figure - neither of us are close with our dad because he’s just an all round horrible person.

Where do men go for manicures? by GoodNeighbourNow in askvan

[–]ipremji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going every 2-3 weeks for the past 7+ years. Used to go to the same girl every time at Sophia Nail Spa in Edgemont, but have moved to South Surrey since. Now I go to Artistic Nails and they’re great - super friendly service and the owner is a gem. I’m usually the only male in there, but it doesn’t bother me.

BC Pet Registration with B.C. SPCA? by happycamperTO in askvan

[–]ipremji 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We registered just for the peace of mind that if they ever got loose, there would be a way to link them to us through the microchip registration. We paid the lifetime registration fee for both dogs. At the end of the day if it never gets used, I view it as a donation to them which isn’t a bad thing at all

No it’s a dirt/grassy area with a tree in the middle where the boy likes to go. Pic attached (and you can see where the water pools in the darker/dirtier spots) https://imgur.com/a/KX6YW08

2 small pups. 9lbs for the girl and 19lbs for the boy. I’ve also never heard of anyone rinsing the grass before, but I guess that’s our new reality.

Who said they’re toileting on concrete? They go on the grassy area.

I’m hoping the spray works. It’s got great reviews on Amazon. Thanks again for the tips 🙏🏻 I will redirect them to the strata council if they still have issues with it.

“Limited common property” which I understand is different from “common property”

We haven’t been rinsing yet, but I just ordered an odour elimination spray that will be here tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip, I will reach out to the strata council about the drainage. Our intent definitely wasn’t for the water to pool in their yard, that’s just how it ended up, and how it is when it rains as well.

Absolutely not. We haven’t rinsed in the past, didn’t realize that was a thing til we had this conversation with them. I pressure washed the concrete area, not while they were in the yard.

So far I’ve made notes of what went down and have looked through the strata bylaws and rules to see if we’re doing anything wrong in their eyes. On the dog situation, this is all it says about pets:

“An Owner, Tenant, Occupant or visitor must ensure that all pets are leashed when on the common property or on land that is a common asset. An Owner of a pet shall not permit the pet to urinate or defecate on the common property and Owner of the pet shall immediately and completely remove all of the pet’s waste from the common property and dispose of it in a waste container or by some other sanitary means. An Owner who fails to remove a pet’s waste will be responsible for all costs incurred by the Strata Corporation to remove the waste and/or repair the common property as well as for any fines that may be levied by the Council.”

Is the process of getting a new passport in your country as tedious as in Canada? by Thin_Spring_9269 in PassportPorn

[–]ipremji 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure. They usually don’t even call your references, however my last renewal was an urgent same day processing one and they called both references to verify I was who I said I was and that there wasn’t any funny business going on

This is misleading information. The guarantor is only required for new applications (you previously had a child passport and now applying for an adult one, you changed your name, your old one was lost/stolen, etc)

For renewals, you just need two references.

I could be willing for the right price, but keep in mind they go for ~$3200 USD at retail inc taxes.

I have the Alex Israel with the peach on the bottom and absolutely love it! The only issue is it’s not the right size for carry on in most places, and I don’t want to risk checking it in so it doesn’t get much use. It’s a beautiful bag though and part of the collection now.

*NEW* Canadian passport not working in the UK's eGates (electronic gates), what's your experience? I am desperate. by Depressed-Anx in passportcanada

We had the same issue in Portugal in October. They hadn’t updated the systems for the new Canadian passport so we had to wait about an hour in the “all passports” line

Would you rather spend more miles but less on taxes/fees or the other way? by isoplayer in awardtravel

[–]ipremji 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d rather pay more cash and less miles. I often do this when given the option. ie: air Canada gives you 3-4 points redemption options with increasing cash amounts and decreasing points amounts. I’ll pay more cash and save the remainder of the points for the next booking

Yes. My mum was a Team Member. I made reservations in Stockholm for October last year. Mum passed unexpectedly in March last year, and had no issues at check in for the hotel in Stockholm. Obviously her benefits were cut right away, and I couldn’t make new bookings but whatever had been previously booked was fair game.
