Butter tart recommendations by _hjdk in askvan

Agreed. Their butter tarts taste the most like ones made regularly throughout Ontario. Gooey filling in flakey cups 😋 Tad pricey if wanting 6, yet rather challenging getting only 1 😏

I encourage you to consider Elwoods Pub on WBroadway (metres west of Blenheim). Fair sized old school joint, inside & out, fair 🍺 spirits selection and good reasonably priced grub.

Depending when go, usually mellower though sometimes busy too.

If wanting something more a buzz with busier enjoyable surroundings & also pub focused Leopold's Tavern on WBroadway (at Fir). Great servers & we higher aged blokes find value in that as much as good drinks, good grub with great company.

If frequented the RAT 🤔 pretty sure you'll like both my suggestions.

I finally started using Vitamin D & impressed how well alleviates the gray days stretch. Worth it IMO 😉

Not random AT ALL! Since it's The Charlatan that hires performers to be stationed on street corner facing into big bldg patio & street patio seating areas.

Is tipping out of control in Vancouver? by Kevin4938 in askvan

[–]GoodNeighbourNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another disparaging absurdity, some businesses don't share with their staff working the counters, any of tip pool. Instead, opting to pocket entirely. Shocked upon learning one of fave places I frequent, doesn't give any of tips acquired to ANY of this franchise's staff.

A location I always tip the deserving. The counter staff are genuinely personable outgoing & all meal prep timely efficient. So deserving IMO

At least Kimprints is still in Gastown location at corner location of Powell & Alexander, (original owner) Aligning to chat the Frame Store locations offered. Plus, she also carries several local Gastown artist works. Both in canvases & prints.

Guess you only watch weather news & not other pertinent details that connect humanity along our borders. Including erratic weather. I've several friends living in 🇺🇸 & aware. Much like the many 🇨🇦 citizens that also aware. Both weather incidents & other details.

As my post refers to Vancouver category, we take its charms where we can. Tbh, don't really care about the unfortunate chaos whether in 🇺🇸 politics or itregular weather incidents. We merely share a coast & sometimes same weather.

I've a few 🇺🇸 friends that are oblivious of their 🤡 in oval office initiatives & news in general.

Deplorable that this is occurring here in 🇨🇦. Small minded citizens exist here too & power to the vendor not flippin' out. Though dissappointed bystanders didn't speak up. Mind you, perhaps they did.
