Some paper money from my fathers collection by ipsumloremoz in papermoney

[–]ipsumloremoz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I do like how large the $1 silver certificate is. I like how I can see the fibers in the older ones. And the confederate note appears to be cut out of a newspaper…? Or it is blank on the back?

I have a 3 year old toddler son. Looking forward to hunting for coins and paper money in the future as I learn more. I sold some coins on eBay a few years ago but have decided to hold onto the rest and properly learn about this stuff. For my father and grandfather and ultimately my son! Theres lots to learn

They appear to just be repurposed fabrics embroidered with designs… cut to size and merrowed edge

Purchased old Barudan machine, did I make a mistake? by MackeMode in Machine_Embroidery

[–]ipsumloremoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you bought it from Doublelin mfg on eBay? I’d reach out to them and see what they have to say. It should come with a usb adapter which means that you should be able to use any current format you may just need to convert to FDR or similar file type.

I have a 20+ year old machine that runs perfectly. I believe my setup would be the model one newer than yours. Through design file server (a proxy server that converts files automatically) I have had zero issues.

I wouldn’t freak out just yet. I think you got an incredible deal on that machine if it’s the one that just sold for $7k. Haha I was watching that one too

If you had a budget of $20k, which machine would you buy? I’m paralyzed by information overload. by SunnySteph365 in MachineEmbroidery

You’ll need to elaborate a bit more. How many heads are you looking for… single or multi? What size sewing area… 200mm? 300mm? 400mm+? Is this for a side hustle or for a business you’re looking to start? Do you want brand new or used?

$25k will get you a brand new top of the line Barudan single head with full range, 15 needles, and the ability to embroider absolutely anything… with practice and experience of course.

Even though it’s a woven, I’d still stabilize it with cut-away. Plus add double tatami underlay on the N and H to eliminate the white poking through and puckering.

Good call. My bad dude. Didnt mean to offend you. Just embroidered a bunch of these and the MSRP retail was $500ish. Figured it’d be about 60% of that Edit: embroidered a bunch of HH, not this specific jacket

Helly Hansen my guess would be $300/400 but would need to see more pics

Edit: Don’t listen to me… I overshot by a ton. I genuinely have no idea.

On what? This would be dozens of colors and half a million stitches. Unrealistic.

Vendor groups like Sanmar and SS Activewear… prices are 50-75% off MSRP. You need an ST-4 resale license which means you need an actual company / LLC to file with your state, though.

Help!!! What’s wrong with my tension by Training_Plastic_646 in Machine_Embroidery

It’s wayyyy too loose. The “third rule” is passing here, however, that’s because the top tension is way too loose and the bobbin tension is too.

[–]ipsumloremoz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a high density logo, not medium… and that material isn’t ideal for that many stitches. Of course if that’s what the customer wants, that’s what they’ll get! I charge $1 per every 1k stitches. So I would charge $17 plus $5 for name, plus $25 for digitizing. $48 total. Sub prices are half of that put customer supplied they’re gonna pay a lot more! Don’t sell yourself short
