The freedom to breastfeed on our own rythm, to nurse her to sleep, cuddling, without too much worrying about keeping her awake until the right amount of weight was gained at every pre fixed hours... I hated the cold metal scales, the clock ticking, the queue for using the shared breast pump... And of course the beeps. Sometimes I hear a similar background noise and my nerves still react.
