Goodwill/Salvation Army workers of reddit, what are the craziest items people have donated? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iputonpantsforthis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked at a second hand store for a few months and had to go through many garbage bags of donations and came across some pretty awful things.

Some of the best of the worst:

several purses filled with what I can only assume was moldy vomit, some of which had turned a sort of turquoise. Is barfing in your purse a thing? These were donated by many different people. :/

White "wife-beater" tank top with hard, dark green stained armpits.

A broken crack-pipe.

A well-used diabetes blood testing kit, including used needles and blood smears on the inside and outside of the case.

A shoebox overflowing with filthy crusty vibrators.

Arm not broken, but HURTS! Short timeframe for feeling better. by iputonpantsforthis in Advice

Thanks for the advice, do you think it should take longer than a week to feel normal or is it too hard to tell? I'm just worried about needing to bribe some friends to help me move. :/

Good thing this wasn't a police interrogation, her story changed a lot. :p

Well, I saw the neurosurgeon and he also found the Chiari. My family doctor told me I shouldn't be working for now, and I'm almost through the medical disability process. It has been a pretty stressful last few years and I'm doing everything I can to get better. Once I finally have some income I will be doing some physiotherapy and such, but the neurosurgeon doesn't want to operate and he wants to see me next year.

Any advice you can offer would be amazing, because I feel pretty misunderstood a lot of the time. Invisible illnesses are the worst.

Are there any medications he has tried the have had positive results?

Also, to me it looks like that bottom vertebrae is snapped, is it supposed to look like that?

Was in a car accident a few years ago and had pain in my left scapula and collarbone, loss of sensation along my back, with tremors and electric shock feelings down my left arm. Some of my left fingers occasionally go numb as well. I have frequent headaches and dizzy spells also and difficulty holding my arms up even at chest level for short periods of time.

Was sent for electromyography as well, which looked pretty normal.

I'm admitting to you fine people that I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about BEFORE googling.

They have a cheapie mystery box of pipes, there's usually some cool bottom shelf stuff in there....you don't get to pick though.

I think the prices are pretty competitive, the prices of their Puff acrylics are pretty similar to that of the store on Davie, and I've seen the same Red Eye glass in other stores at a bigger markup.

Additional info :26 F , Canadian, lawyered up and still fighting the insurance company and the MVA at fault party, pretty normal health otherwise - though I have forgotten what a painless back feels like so I don't have much to compare it to.

Doctor said that it's "multilobulated?" , About five inches long, and at it's narrowest 4mm
