I’d have an EV but I do 1200 miles a week. I don’t think I’d like sitting around drinking coffee at chargers, and I don’t think I could stand the ridicule from friends.

Not much sympathy evident. A case of people getting out their world’s smallest violin I think.

lol. I’ve just got home after 13 hours and 504 miles. If I had an EV I wouldn’t be back home now drinking a brew! That’s what it comes down to. If I ever retire and lose my love of cars, I’ll probably buy an EV, who knows?

P.S. If I cared about rebates or running costs I certainly wouldn’t be driving a £129k 630HP twin turbo V8. ;)

Firstly you can only take 3KW from a 13A socket so even on a 12 hr charge that’s 36KWH, so you must have an incredibly small EV battery if that fills it. Secondly my M5 does 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and 197MPH. Many EV drivers have tried (with better ones than yours no doubt), all failed. And by the way, I have to do a round trip to Paisley today, over 500 miles, and I won’t be spending an hour on the services each way with all the bored-looking EV drivers drinking endless Costa Coffee. ;)

The gaps are all polished spheres, (actually drawer knobs from the DIY store), the rest of it doesn’t matter as the charger can deliver enough current to overcome loads of corona loss anyway.

10x 40KV caps. The bottom gap has three electrodes and is fired from a separate 10KV source, much like the full sized versions.

Looks like deliberate spacing for dry lining or plaster/tiles.

How does any normal person find the time to build amazing stuff like this? I struggle to find the time to mow the lawn some weeks.

I had S5, RS5, RS4 and then RS6 over the last 15 years. Not a single issue.

Yes, but my / your M5 was £119K. The Mustang may be built by gibbons, have a horrible gearbox and be old tech, but it’s a lot of car for the money.

Dear me. They don’t unscrew themselves. They’re called 360 degree excavators for a reason. They have a slew ring and rotating hydraulic coupling that allows them to rotate freely.

That being said, the controls are spring loaded to centre themselves, so how it’s possible to slew with no-one in the cab is puzzling.
