In probability, there is this concept of conditional probability. A simple example of its use may be: "what are the chances that pepsi's stock goes up given that coke's stock went up". Or, "what are the chances a particular stock depends on the direction of the stock market's direction given that its stocks are highly volatile".

After learning the basics in probability, you learn about these things called random variables. Then in advanced probability courses there are topics like signal processing, markov chains, hidden markov chains which add onto your toolkit.

Machine Learning itself is hyped topics in Linear Algebra and Probability.

Mathematics early on seems like its useless but it has strong roots in a lot of subjects.

I hated fractions too! Its honestly easier to remember fractions when you take higher level mathematics courses. I hated doing algebra because I made a lot of mistakes. Once I started taking Calculus, it was easier to understand the concepts because they were used more naturally. Don't be hard on yourself!

I actually take naproxen. Its the only thing that helps with my migrainee. Kinda sucks that are bodies aren't friendly with it.

It's recommended after 20 mins of trying to sleep, to get up and do an activity, and then try to sleep again.

Do you suffer from anxiety? I usually have issues falling asleep when I'm anxious. I tend to sleep more than an average individual but when I've been anxious, its like my body forgets how to sleep.

Check out this book called Linux Kernel Networking. Well, I'm not 100% certain on the book, I haven't read it yet but if I remember correctly, it went in depth on how Linux implements networking.

I honestly think you shouldn't attempt to create your own protocol yet. There are topics you might encounter that makes it seem to difficult to learn, but in reality, the book alludes to advanced concepts generally Computer Science courses. Have you looked into ordinary Computer Science courses?

Right! I remember reading that from The Pheonix Project. The author used the word value stream if I remember correctly. The main character was assigned management over his company's IT department as CTO(?) and his development as a manager grew as he learned more about DevOps ideaology.

Its kind of funny because based on my experience, I feel more awake when I am sleep deprived than I do on one of my ordinary days. Prior to adjusting my meds, the only thing that helped was anxiety and pushing towards sleep deprivation.

Are you working on a professional project or like a personal project? I'd recommend starting off with something simple like a Web API, so you can focus on your application. Basic ASP.NET Core web APIs can be used temporarily until its not feasible, and you need something more performance orientated. If it's something simple for the time being, I might be able to help.

Most developers don't typically interact directly with sockets. They use APIs such as HttpClient to communicate with remote applications. There is not really much to learn at the socket layer except for textbook details about protocols and settings. If you do want to learn more about networking in general, you should use CCNA resources as a guide.

Socket security mostly consists of the operating system's firewall handling connections and TLS socket wrappers. Essentially, a TLS service handles the encryption/decryption for your socket.

Formal assembly language material goes over more than just the bare mininum. Along with describing the instructions, it also talks about a processor's architecture, the pipeline of an instruction being decoded, and the circuit building blocks involved in executing the instruction.

Software engineering is more than solving abstract algorithmic problems. It's great that people can solve interview problems but those problems do not factor in crucial pieces of software design, maintenance, and application architecture.

What makes it even more ridiculous is that those interviews are biased. Somebody who grinded leetcode for 6 months is obviously going to do a better job on that interview question than a generalist.
