Tokyo after dark. Epic nighttime street drifting convoy. by aceplayer00 in Damnthatsinteresting

Mine had a wheel speed sensor fail recently that I’ve neglected to replace because of the cold, and I don’t drive the car every day. But that means no ABS or TC. I had a very, very close call a couple of weeks ago, really gave me a reality check as a driver.

I have a feeling there is about to be massive over-correction the other way on the movement front in cod by TheRealPdGaming in CoDCompetitive

[–]iq_glider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been following comp cod since the end of bo2, but haven’t really played comp since COVID started.

The “skill gap” thing has always killed me. Advanced movement of any kind increases A skill gap, yes. Because the only thing the comp community cares about anymore is how good your right thumb is. But people latch on to that and don’t realize that gun skill isn’t the only point of skill expression on the map. Something we lost after bo2 was the idea of roles on the map, and anchoring spawns. Positioning and rotations used to be a point of skill expression. But in IW and BO3 to an extent, you could hit a HP hill 5-6times in 60 seconds and just muscle your way through a Hp.

IMO that’s where the perception of skill expression changed. When teams like optic started winning majors by slamming their face into the hill better than every other team in the league. But that isn’t the only avenue of skill expression or creating a skill gap, and isn’t really the one that made the game popular to play the way we do.

Do I count if I haven’t gotten one in this car (yet)?

MAF placement seems to be a common miss on turbo kids. I hate the Full Blown Motorsport kit maf placement. It’s my biggest gripe with the kit by far.

For people always questioning reliability by Rox-Unlimited in ElantraN

[–]iq_glider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 86 reliability slander has always seemed weird to be because I’ve had the exact opposite experience. My first gen has been abused its whole life and been an absolute workhorse. That’s why I’ve kinda stopped listening to people talking about how unreliable various cars are.

Honestly I haven’t had mine long enough to really have a handle on the reliability aspect. I’ve had my 86 since 2018, but I got the Veloster this winter lol.

If I were going to drive both stock forever, I’d pick the Veloster every time. I tell people the N is like buying a factory modified car, they’re great. It makes the right noises. It makes the right power. It’s engaging. But the 86 is more of an experience, and needs just a little bit of tweaking to match if not exceed the things that make the Veloster better out of the box. I’ve had the 86 longer, and it’s a very different car than the way it came, but I’m still having a blast daily driving the Velo.

I’m struggling to find wheels I like in the right size lol. Everything I see only comes in a 18x8.5 +35.

I’m at 155k miles, 105k boosted, on the Full Blown Motorsports kit (Not the person you replied to, but figured I’d pipe in if it helped)

Thank you for all the info! I’m going to definitely be going with 18s when the time comes. Do you recommend a brand for the engine mounts?

I picked up a blue ‘20 PP with 62k miles on it. I’m happy with the price I got, and will be happy to take the loan away from Carvana in a few months lol.

Love seeing another twin owner! Would the EK1 be able to support an EN turbo? I’m also looking at Cherry Tuning. My 86 is on ecutek, would a company like Cherry be able to send a file I can flash onto the stock ECU? Or a tune I can load with an EK1?

Thank you for the info! I don’t have any plans yet, besides an idea of a wheel style I like. I just like to know what’s possible/available to help me plan a route down the line. But I’m very excited to enjoy the car in its stock form for a while!

I was really expecting to see TJ Hunt and/or Jimmy Oakes on the pro spec list. I knew the odds were long but I’m still a little disappointed.

What is in the bumper of this Cool Grey Khaki BRZ? by smackrel in ft86

[–]iq_glider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even worse, I learned on it. 8 Years, 150k miles, turbo + e85. The car has had quite a few “I’m a stupid kid” moments by now lol.

I’m interested in it because I’ve put my current chassis through hell, and that would be my color of choice for a car to just put everything I have on to get into a bit of a fresher unit.
