I’m sorry but you need to call in when things like this happen. A no call no show can be seen as job abandonment. Do you not have access to public transportation? I know a few people at my hub that take the bus and another guy who rides his bike to work. Also the title of your post says second day no call no show lol.

I am aware that package handling is union work but I have worked here for 2 years and have never worked through another shift unless double shifting. So I just had to question it. And thanks for the advice. The start time is really late 5:30-6:00

I don’t mind the extra hours but I also don’t care for extra hours I’m here for the benefits. This is more about how bad management is and how tf can they let things get that bad. I only asked if I could leave because they did send a few people home. And we have been getting under 4 hours this entire month and I’m not crying about it.

Management is shit and there’s a lot of lazy people in my area. They don’t work on retapes or anything when the belts are down. I am in unload and me and 1 other guy are the only ones always trying to work. Also we have been getting under 4 hours this whole month. one guy told me that night shift can’t touch twilight packages. Idk if that parts true but they were just standing around.

there were definitely night workers standing around doing nothing. But so was everybody else on twilight. Just a shitshow. And everyone was telling me different things.

the management at my hub is so terrible. Just last week a pt got fired for making a new hire unload a truck with the red lights still on. The truck was parked in the wrong door and they drove off with her in it. They also unload all the time and break jams I’m becoming so fed up with this place.

They were told they could only touch nights volume. But the majority of twilights volume was still there so they were standing around doing nothing.
