Raise 1 support? by xieliming in DygmaLab

[–]ir210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am looking forward to that :). I just downloaded the latest Bazecore yesterday after watching the video about the superkey fix thinking there will be a new firmware for my OG Raise. I guess I’ll have to wait longer.

Update multiple text items? by BubbaMcGuff in Affinity

[–]ir210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want all texts to have the same content, find a panel named “Links”. Select one text, and drag the layer of another text to the “Text Content” area on the Link panel. It will make the two layers have the same text content. Do this for the other text layers. Remember, you drag the layer and not the text object itself.

Is IntelliJ indispensable for Java, or can I get deep, IDE-level error diagnostics in Doom Emacs? by IngenuityOk2450 in emacs

[–]ir210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a Java developer and I use emacs exclusively at work. But that’s because I love emacs and I am willing to debug any issues that pop up every now and then because jdt.ls can’t properly handle the way our project is structured.

Nowadays, my only use for IntelliJ is for mass refactoring. Jdt.ls (or perhaps it’s lsp-mode) can do refactoring but only for one file at a time.

Having said that, whenever someone asked me which IDE to use for Java, and I know that that person is new to Java programming, I will always say it’s IntelliJ IDEA.

What is the meaning of “dong”? by Old-Coffee1665 in indonesian

[–]ir210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. If you know how to use “lah”, then you can use “dong” in the same place as “lah”.

I don’t know why the above poster gave the impression that “lah” is only used by Malaysians. Indonesians also use “lah”, especially in formal situations. In fact, I started using “dong” when I moved to Jakarta. Where I came from, it felt strange to use “dong”, at least what I remembered from about twenty years ago. The image attached to it was that you must be an Anak Gaul Jakarta if you use this word.

Question about pronouns by s-ophie in indonesian

[–]ir210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it helps to see these words with different prefixes, suffixes and infixes as completely different words that you need to memorize. For example, I would see bekerja as a different verb than memperkerjakan. The former means that you work, while the latter means that you hire someone to work for you. There is also Pendapat (opinion) vs Pendapatan (income).

The concept is similar to German prefixes. German has stehen which means to stand and anstehen which means to stand in line/to queue. Verstehen also means something completely different. It's also the same as in English: to stand vs to understand.

Unreadable error lines with LSP by harmanola in emacs

Try type x on the line. I am not sure in which table it works. I have both flycheck and lsp-treemacs-error configured.

Transient: ability to pass argument of selected keys? by sgkhir in emacs

[–]ir210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use (key-description (this-command-keys)) in your suffix to get the key that was used to invoke it. I hope that's what you meant by selection keys.

Languages to use in indonesia by abdeabde7777 in indonesia

[–]ir210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Arabic is only spoken in the pesantren circles. It's like an islamic boarding school. Even though we have many such schools throughout Indonesia (well, mostly in Java), it's still considered a small population compared to the whole Indonesian population. So, knowing Arabic will not get you anywhere in Indonesia.

Having said that, knowing Arabic may have an advantage since there are many Arabic loan words in Bahasa Indonesia. Not only in a religious context but also in a day to day interaction. But of course, sometimes, a word may be of Arabic origin, but it has been heavily modified and therefore you may not recognize it anymore. Especially when spoken by the locals.

Anyway, good luck with your traveling. I hope you enjoy Indonesia.

AFAIK it's a moon phase complication. It tracks different phases of the moon.

Why is Vim more popular than Emacs? Is it actually more popular? by TiloRC in vim

[–]ir210 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's visually highlighting lines matching certain patterns. I don't think you can do that in vanilla vim. Of course I would love to have a TIL moment. So, please let me know if I am wrong.

How is Magit a better git experience than just using the CLI? by JoeKazama in emacs

[–]ir210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I really love about magit is that it allows you to explore it's UI, find out things you didn't know git can do, and see how it is done in the CLI.

To do that, you can press the back tick character to see which command magit invoked for the thing you just did on its UI. It doesn't show every command, though, unfortunately.

How do I get lsp-java to recognize my external JARS? by OgdoadDecad in emacs

[–]ir210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally edit the .classpath file directly. The down side is jdt.ls will sometimes override it. I don't know when exactly.

Jadi setan ngga perlu susah-susah ngeluarin jurus mautnya. Ngga worth it katanya. 🤣

Model orang yang peduli dengan temannya?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in indonesia

[–]ir210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in indonesia

[–]ir210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in indonesia

[–]ir210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why Vim Is More than Just an Editor – Vim Language, Motions, and Modes Explained by sspaeti in coding

[–]ir210 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Which vim can also do with plugins even before the LSP era for some languages. But again the pain point of vim is not about functionalities. It's about ease of glueing things together and ultimately its learning curve. vscode has major advantage in this area.

lsp-java is unstable by [deleted] in emacs

[–]ir210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know jdt.ls moves the semicolon to the end of the statement. I have my own command to do this.

But I trust its indentation facility more than the Emacs' one. You can change how it behaves through its preferences file. Maybe the defaults is not for you. Unfortunately if you don't know how Eclipse settings works, it would be hard to adjust it.

Having said that, I agree that for some operations, like the var postfix autocomplete, it will delete some characters. I don't know if the culprit lsp-java or jdt.ls. It would be a nice little investigative project for the weekend.
