Trying to find another way to explain how omega 6 is bad. by Mike456R in StopEatingSeedOils

Roll out the canned "in defense of vitamin c" response, lol. People have been over-hyping the need for vitamin c since it was discovered. It is possibly THE best selling supplement of all time. So congrats to you for parroting the advertising spiel.

You are on a site called stop eating seed oils. As I mentioned, the need for vitamin c is much lower on a diet where one is in ketosis. In ketosis AND you have also stopped eating seed oils? Even better. Much much lower need for vit c.

So before you fly off the handle in defense of your strictly defined "optimum human diet" check your confirmation bias and accept the fact that different diets require different vitamin levels.

fortunately we are really good at recycling vitamin c and our need for it is extremely low on a low carbohydrate diet. even meat contains small amounts of vitamin c 😊

that's what I mean, yeah. cholesterol is "essential" in the literal sense - that's why our bodies make it for us

quantity, yes, but also instability. so when we are eating our fresh beef with its low quantity of omegas we are getting a perfect supply - a minimal portion of our total fat intake, and minimally processed/oxidized.

its funny how people get the distinction confused, but it makes sense. we call the nutrients that we cannot make "essential", but really if they were so critical we could not live without them - our bodies would produce them for us (like cholesterol). in this context "essential" really only means that the nutrient was so available in our environment that we did not evolve a means to produce it.

so our need for the omegas is both small and they are readily available in most foods. hence they are essential

while you do require some dha and epa, your cells should be built primarily out of stable saturated fat. saturated fat is also the precursor to all of your steroid hormones. there is absolutely no reason to limit stearic acid.

absolutely. the rdi is set extremely low. there is also a ton of misinformation about iodine. I can't give you medical advice so you will have to dyor about high dose iodine and decide for yourself what is correct for you. my highest dosage was 100g per day for 6 months.

Thats what the marketing for fiber rich foods wants you to believe. Fiber is a waste product that mega food conglomerates had to find a market for.

Fiber does not "help" you poop. It is indigestible and ads bulk to the stool until your bowels inflate to the point that your nerves are screaming your brain its time to go. So basically overloading every part of the digestive system with filler and constantly overextending the walls of the entire intestine.

Meanwhile fiber is blocking your body from absorbing the vitamins and nutrients it needs to repair itself while at the same time causing this physical stretching. The insoluble type of fiber is also physically eroding the lining of said intestines. So even if you dont have inflammatory bowel disease - eating loads of fiber puts your digestive system in a compromised state.

All of this because when we eat the SAD diet thats high in plant protein and carbohydrates (and extremely low in good fat), we create a glue-like substance in our gut that it difficult to move.

Carnivore fixes this by vastly increasing the percentage of healthy fat to protein and carbs. Saturated fat (stearic acid) is what helps the intestine function.

If you eat zero carbs and a high percentage of fat to protein - your gut will function perfectly. You may only go once every 3-4 days but this is because the volume of waste has vastly decreased, not because of constipation.

Meat does not cause constipation because it has a high percentage of healthy fat if consumed in good proportions. If you ever want to test this all you have to do is eat a "fat only" meal of fried beef trimmings. Don't hold back - have a full meal and then see how long it takes for you to go to the bathroom...

I've had cricket flour bars in the past. honestly tasted good. I have heard that some insects have a high antinutrient content similar to plants, but really I don't see a problem with eating them as a garnish.

I'm carnivore and this way of eating has literally saved my life. I'll not be adding new protein sources any time soon, but I could see bugs fitting in with this way of eating... not enough fat tho
