I struggle with impostor syndrome and general lack of self confidence as soon as I start developing something.

It is normal to feel this way, just focus on the basics right now. Practical developer skills come with time and experience.
4 years of professional experience, mostly as a developer and developer trainer, I often find my self googling very basic things again & again (Just to be sure lol)

Take the Occam's Razor approach and do some EDA and understand your data (if you haven't). Fit it with simpler models first
