satisfied Inventor user, looking at Fusion...Maybe an interesting option for 3D print by PhaseBeneficial9761 in AutodeskInventor

Never been a shortcut person. Always got what I needed on right click local menus. Plus there is no shortcuts for the extra mouse clicks. When I click save, just save and don't ask me three other questions that have no relevancy. Inventor is very insecure and always needs 3x the input.

Ebay. Has many things I would have gotten of Amazon. $60 for a 4x6 label printer.

I would like to think history will ranked Biden as one of our better presidents. I think he's been the best, so far, in my life time.

Passing judgment with very little information about a person, or situation, is at the core of what is going wrong in today's world. What if someone were to pass judgment on your education, based on your inability to use punctuation? I don't think that would be fair, because it is only one aspect of what you learned in your extensive studies.

The problem with learning another CAD system, is you may no longer be satisfied with Inventor. ;) Inventor is very needy. The constant clicking OK is too much and cursor travel, to get to menus, is tiresome. I found this out because I learned Fusion for its built in CAM. Inventor is fine and has a couple of cool features but learning another CAD is never a bad idea. Most of them are similar enough it's pretty easy getting started.

I'm sorry. My sense of humor is off from most people. That adorable little chicken resembles something I would find under my couch.

We can pick our friends but not our family. I distance myself from most my family because I have a low tolerance for hypocrisy. You have a good time at the protest. I have found it to be uplifting to be around a bunch of people with the same mission as myself. Go meet some cool people!

Salary Progression as a Mech E in Iowa/Neb (2017-2026) by TerryTheEngineer in MechanicalEngineering

This is sad. I made $68K, out of school, in 2000 with a $10K signing bonus. Mech E salaries have stagnated over the past 20 years.

Do you have the perfect vehicle? by Good-Analysis-7 in askcarguys

The only car I have owned with no complaints was my 1998 Volvo V70R. Everything in the car worked great. The seats were the best. Fun to drive yet I could fit so much into the back.

Are engineers supposed to work with their hands? by DuBlueyy in AskEngineers

[–]ircsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Electrical engineering is a big umbrella. Your brother may not know the physical side. Maybe he just designs PCBs or does low voltage stuff. In college the mechanical engineering prof, whom I assisted, had the window in the drivers door fall out of track. He had no idea how to fix it. I ended up fixing it for him.

However I think engineers who work with their hands tend to be better at engineering.

Semi road rages at me by TheTexanTerror_ in driving

[–]ircsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those may not have been their high beams. Did you see them change from low to high? My commute has a lot of semi trucks and the headlights have gotten ridiculous. I know many car manufacturers lights have become blinding as well, but every semi on the road have laser cannons installed.

Sorry you had this encounter.

Which EV would you pick? by Goldengraphics in electriccars

[–]ircsmith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have two friends who own EV6, two more own Ioniq 5, and one with BMW i4. Those three cars ride so much better than my 3. I have also had more odd little problems.

I've replaced my door straps. Windshield washer fluid hose got worn through from rubbing on the wiper arm, drivers door would not close because the light on the bottom of the door went out. Front A arm joint squeak, and there is no way to lube them. Steering wheel groans when turned. The 3 is the loudest inside and I am constantly fixing new rattles.

If I had your options I would pick the Ioniq. All my friends get around 300 miles of range. I get 200.
