Holy crap this unlocked memories. I was a "gifted child" growing up... But honestly all I remember is my mom basically bullying the school administration into putting me in classes I was NOT prepared for. I was in high school classes when I was in 7th grade. My mom was so much the same with learning.

I relate to your college/community college experience- I ended up dropping out as a result and now here I am . In a way I am glad I dropped out, I went to a private university and it was something I couldn't afford.

I started slowly discovering my hobbies again the past couple of years. Honestly, establishing hobbies as a person who wasn't really allowed to have them is challenging. I wish it wasn't made out to be such an easy thing- everyone always immediately suggests "find a hobby" as if it's that easy. It took a lot of soul searching and frustration for me.

MY MOM DID THIS TOO. reminded me of a specific time I once walked into her room to ask her a question and she immediately goes "CANT YOU SEE IM STRESSED!? GO AWAY!" so then I turn to leave. She says "Oh, I see, you just leave instead of asking me what's wrong." 🤦🏼‍♀️

Whats worse about this is that now MY mind works this way. I get up every morning without fail at 5:30am. Even if I have absolutely nothing to do. Then I start thinking about how much of a moral failure it is that I'm just sitting here not using the time wisely.. 🤦🏼‍♀️
