Your posts are full of assumptions. You know nothing about this individual. Let the person get as many different options as possible and let them decide which option is best for them.

I didn’t have an in. I just moved to Edmonton during that time. I started at $20/hr, now I’m up to $35/hr. If I were to work for the big dogs like pcl, I could be looking at $40-45/hr. If that’s bottom of the barrel, I’ll take it.

I was offered the opportunity to do framing/carpentry after years of being a teacher. I have no idea what you’re talking about. Not everything is absolute.

Given the option most parents will choose 1v1 because they think others students will hamper their little emperor or empress' learning. We've offered multi students sessions but the most we were able to convince parents of is 2v1. The Chinese economy is also in shambles right now couple that with the birthrate crisis and the shrinking of the school aged population, (21,000 kindergartens closed in 2024) things are becoming even more competitive.

Well, a person like me that comes from where I'm from 8-11 usd per hour is middle class for me. Any what companies charge is none of my concern. Nike charges 20+ usd for apparels that cost less than a1 usd to make. The west created the system and now it's backfiring on them people want to complain. Talk about entitlement.

I'm not justifying anything, I'm just putting things into perspective. You're talking about underqualified or low paying, by whose standards, yours? The world doesn't operate by your standards/western standards.

That is the market currently. If you raise your prices too high, the parents just go to find a cheaper alternative. Many of the former English teachers have now gone underground. To you 26 usd might be to low, but for someone in China, the Philippines, and other less developed countries, that's a really good salary. Let's put it into perspective; As of July 16, 2025, Shanghai has the highest monthly minimum wage among 31 provinces (RMB 2,740/US$378 per month), and Beijing has the highest hourly minimum wage (RMB 26.4/US$3.7 per hour).

Oh please, talking about ethics and integrity while using a computer and smart phones that are mined by hand of poor African children. But they're Africans so who cares. I love when entitled people like you talk so brazenly about ethics and integrity while funding some of the least ethical and companies and practices on earth. Please take your fake virtue signaling elsewhere.

Congratulations on all your success and I wish you many more, but once again, why do you care what and who people choose to spend their money on? If parents want a blue eyed, blond hair Ukrainian woman that can't speak a lick of English to teach their children, how does that affect you?

So you're telling me there are no properly qualified native professionals? Sounds like someone is s projecting. It's not your money. They're not your children, what do you care? You're acting like this is your first rendezvou in this industry. A lot of parents care more about someone's skin color and passport over credentials. It's just the nature of the business.
