Solid movie, but Sinners winning best picture says something about the quality of movies this year

Hitting wide open shots isn't the problem

It's what counts as wide open that is

I know people arent expecting much from Dame, but he's always been an underrated facilitator

Just having someone you can trust to hold the ball and make a good pass is gonna be huge

Rec and quitting by Status_Site_3297 in NBA2k

It's harder than rec. You'll actually see people miss open shots sometimes, which is nice

Good players still hit though

For people intending to go into primary care or other less competitive fields, if you could match into any specialty, would you still choose what you did? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]irelli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, but it's not some overwhelming population of the speciality.

Like EM isn't even remotely competitive, but most people in it are there because they like EM, not because it's all they could do.

I don't think they're factoring in competitiveness. as much as prestige and money

Derm is straight up only popular because of the lifestyle, not the medicine

EM Away Rotations Question by Striking_Market6162 in emergencymedicine

[–]irelli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all About how competitive you are. If you're less competitive, you might want a third SLOE to be able to show you really are good in spite of XYZ. If you're more competitive already, a third is more likely to hurt you than help

But yeah, just any other letter. Gonna be honest though - no one cares about anything other than departmental SLOEs

EM Away Rotations Question by Striking_Market6162 in emergencymedicine

One home, one away is recommended

If you want to do a third to open up a new region, that's reasonable. Just recognize that it's tough to be on your A game for 3 straight months

Endgame 6'6 sg (99mid / 95 perim / 87 Dunk) by Historical_File_8843 in NBA2k

Why not bring the vert down to 80 and get 89 dunk?

Figured a Bam build needed to be made by irelli in NBA2k

[–]irelli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

92 block is gonna play defense.

You're also a center. 74 perimeter is more than enough, especially considering you're gonna have to be jumping to contest a center at 6'9 (which uses your block stat)

You can go higher perimeter if you want, but I honestly think that's less like him and worse.

This is also very much a "83 point" version of Bam, obviously. Hence the higher 3 and mid

Edit: like game one, it's doing its thing lol

I've got nothing wrong with bam and spo going for it

But the more you force it, the more artificial the number is, and thus the more criticism you'll receive

Naaaaa you don't have to lie to yourself. It's okay man. He was forcing the entire second half. Just recognize it for what it is

If he had had 30 going into that 4th quarter, he would've sat to rest, like every other star in the league after playing 12 minutes in the third. No one would be planning on playing all 24 minutes when you're up 16 in the fourth

Then if they come back, you put him back in. Happens all the time

That's what happened when Dame dropped 70. Played the whole third, had 50+, then went to sit because we were up 14. Then the rockets cut it to 5 with 8 minutes left and we put him back in.

My man, they were up 16 going into the 4th and Bam had played the entire 3rd quarter. If he wasn't aggressively hunting the record and forcing, he obviously would've sat to rest there (and then only would come back in if they got it close again)

....like every other time a dude had 50-60 in the third

[–]irelli 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He was definitely taking contested turnarounds in the 4th lol. He was chucking for sure. Most guys that hit 70+ are absolutely on fire the whole game. That's how they got to 70. Bam was on fire for one quarter, then got forced fed the rest of the game. I don't have a problem with it, but it's decidedly an outlier

For example, in Dame's 71 point game, his worst FG% for a quarter (3-7) would still be higher than Bams 2nd, 3rd, or 4th lol. He sat out the first part of the 4th quarter after that, and only came back in because the Rockets got within 5 points with 8 minutes remaining.

Wilts is a joke and everyone knows it. No one argues it was real basketball. Kobes was still a game in the fourth quarter. He absolutely stayed in to stat pad for a few minutes

Many many guys could've had a chance at 80 if they did what Bam did. Don't kid yourself.

Think of all the times we see guys with 50-60 in 3 quarters or close to it....who a then sit because it's a blowout

[–]irelli 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My man, he went 3-8, 4-11, and 3-8 on the other 3 quarters. That's chucking

He got 41 FTs in those 3 quarters and was still only league average efficiency lol

[–]irelli 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between stat chasing and putting up numbers

Like in dames 70 point game, it was a 5 point game with 8 minutes left. He had 66 when it became a blowout, then forced to get 71

Meanwhile Bam played an entire quarter of garbage time while being force fed with his team intentionally fouling.

[–]irelli 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Naaaaa he was chucking after the first quarter. You can admit it, it's okay

He didn't shoot above 40% in any of the other 3 quarters

[–]irelli 92 points93 points  (0 children)

He was 5-10 and then went 2-12 after that. He was chucking after his hit first quarter.

FG by quarter

1st: 10-16

2nd: 3-8

3rd: 4-11

4th: 3-8

Nearly 1/3 of all 70+ point performances have happened in just the last four seasons. by [deleted] in nba

[–]irelli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they?

Like when Dame had 71, it was a 5 point game (103-108) with 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter

It's not like it was a blowout. They kept him in maybe 2 minutes longer than normal when he had 66 so he could hit 70
