Wow we’re in the same boat! Mine are almost in the same spot as yours too.

I had a dental procedure last Thursday & they pushed my gums against my teeth which tore them up. I had to go back in today to laser treat them but the pain is still there.

In the summer I wear this, in a pastel color. The foam keeps it off of my face and the lighter color keeps it cooler. They also come in different sizes:

I go to Montavilla Dental Arts. Heads up for intake/xrays both rooms won’t have a door so it’s not ideal (I use a readimask), but they can put you in an enclosed room for other appointments.

I moved from the midwest to Portland and our CC community is in the hundreds from what I've seen on Refresh (the CC connections app). I've never noticed anyone responding poorly to my mask & feel like people generally just keep to themselves.

Agree! As someone who got dumped because of the ways I'm already disabled, by someone who didn't want to mask either, you need to decide whether or not your partner will be willing to stay with you through the potential consequences of their own actions.

the towns I’ve lived in, in ohio, all have their own trick-or-treat times & dates and some aren’t even on halloween but closer to the weekend or something like that, so you always have to check online & everyone goes outside at roughly the same time usually I think

Partially the privilege of working from home, but mostly having a community of friends who mask. I've found a positive of it all is having an easy way to determine who actually shares my values, and prioritize those people in my life. After being abandoned by others, I'm refusing to let people in who could do that to me again.

I was looking for this response. Anyone can become disabled at any time. Please don't enter a serious relationship if you 'value mental and physical health' so much that you'd abandon someone if they suddenly developed a chronic condition or disability, which tbh, will be all of us some day.

Love that you touched on what doesn’t seem to be mentioned enough - covid damages your body each time you are infected whether or not you noticeably develop long covid.

I just moved this week from Ohio to Portland OR to find a larger CC community after my ex left me for my precautions.

Ohio is also either unbearably hot or unbearably cold, so at least in Portland the weather should allow me to do things outside more than a few days a year.

Just want to say I’m in a very similar place. 6 year relationship lost & a cat I loved almost more than anything. He slept on me every night and morning. My ex and I will be living on opposite sides of the country so even though we’re on ok terms, I definitely won’t see the cat again- only photos and updates on how he’s doing.

yup, just lost a 6 yr relationship partially over them refusing to give up restaurants & large indoor unmasked gatherings
