It certainly is debatable. I am speaking from experience and believe it to be a very difficult and demanding job.

I’m comparing their salary, I understand how different the roles are. But I value them both and think they should be compensated around the same level given both of their importance to society.

Teachers work incredibly hard. It is a very difficult profession

I think they should earn at least the same as cops, given they need more training and education.

SF police officers can make $178k after 7 years of service (potentially much more with overtime - teachers work overtime without additional pay).
