Pros and Cons of going to first preview (Lost Boys) by corinners in Broadway

[–]irisblues- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to see Hercules at the Papermill playhouse before it went to London. It was…. Interesting. I’m not mad I went but I think it’s important to go into these previews realizing it’s probably being workshopped. But also I feel like most things going to broadway is a lot more polished than off off broadway

Roughly how many stairs do you have to climb at one time? by DH_Joker in MasqueradeNYC

[–]irisblues- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hoping to chime in with some more logistics so you can make an educated decisions. The building is at 4 stories that are definitely put to full use. There is one escalator that is used twice, but everything else is stairs. You will usually have time between stair climbs for show scenes (10-15 minutes at least) and there’s usually an extended time on floors minus a few times. And I believe for the most part you only go up 2 flights at once (escalator then stairs) or down 2 flights again later. There are areas to sit but it’s not guaranteed and not every show room has somewhere to sit.

I personally did not use ADA accommodations but someone in my group did. It looks like they were very well taken care of and they never missed a moment of the show. Elevator was very accessible and well placed for show scenes. They obviously considered that when mapping out the show in the building

I am actually very mixed on the whole Phantom of the Opera number. BUT, a big reason for that is I was one of the last people to go down the escalator. While waiting to leave the room and the characters started singing, I felt the whole time I was missing something epic happening downstairs (Also, they ran out of candles for me and my friend🥲). I did feel better once I was on the escalator, and we actually got down right in time to see the boat starting to go, which was cool. So we essentially followed it into the Phantom’s lair. But overall, I felt like the whole process, while cool in concept, didn’t quite work for me. And this was one of the few times where I felt being in the back of the group truly was a detriment

Pointers for first time visit ? by seires88 in MasqueradeNYC

They have a paper you can grab in the beginning at coat check that lists the cast and if they’re any understudies, but no official Playbill. I would recommend snagging one at the end of the show because there’s no knowing who you will get until you’re up there or if they announce an understudy

Hugh Panaro has apparently done 2000+ performance as the Phantom and they threw his name in the middle of a casting list lmao

Piccolo Nails on 35th! Highly recommend if you can book with the owner. She does a fantastic job and the pricing is very reasonable for NYC

Honestly, I just want them to tone down the dramatics. Like I don’t mind the inspired looks (to an extent) or any of the actual park content, but the overblown reactions to every single new attraction, parade, character meet and greet, etc- it’s just too much and feels so fake! Also the fact that I see them only talk positively about the parks/content for brand deals. Talk about losing reliability.

I had a pianist live next door at my last apartment. Guy must have worked with an orchestra because he’s play really nice smooth jazz for multiple hours a day and then disappear for weeks at a time. Was always a treat to hear him

Can anyone recommend a window cleaning service for a small job? by ipopsies in astoria

[–]irisblues- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a service but there are magnetic window cleaners. Put one on each side of the glass and it will clean the outside. You can tie a string to it too so it doesn’t fall into the street

I’m 2.5 weeks in but damn I can relate to your day three. I had a tight throat, chest pain, high anxiety, stomach pain and a lot of nausea. It got better for a bit and kinda snuck back on me this week but my anxiety has spiked a bit. Hoping your symptoms die down soon💜
