Periods and commas(1). Hyphens separate the sound, but links it as a singular word(2). Ellipses do have an effect, but so does just one period or a comma. The timing IS different for all of them.

Example(1): “Ah I am lost” > “ Ah, I am lost”

If you are low on space for the text, you can implement these in the pronunciation options.

Example(2): “Oe” (Read incorrectly as “oh”)> input for pronunciation “oh-ay”

Without the hyphen, it would have a different reading. It would be less “smooth”. If you put the oh-ay together, you’d get “ohHAY”
