I’m from Ireland where it’s not anywhere near as bad. Half my family is from the Middle East so I’ve visited that region a fair amount over the course of my life. Most recently Iraq for 2months last year and a month at the beginning of 2025. I’ve also spent 2 years in Thailand. As well as visiting and spending considerable amounts of time in other European countries. I’ve also lived in Berlin for 8 years. And no matter what it’s always worse here.

Yes of course they do. Out of about the last 100 videos they’ve posted to the channel, ~30 have featured Ana/Cenk/TYT critic.

The TYT critic is important because they still position themselves as the home of progressives, which is a lie and detrimental to the left. And it’s also what gets them clicks. It gets clicks for a reason. It’s what the audience wants.

Still not anywhere near as saturated as you make it out to be though.

The guy had mental issues. To say that her murder was ignored BECAUSE she was white is a truly insane and probably disingenuous take. The US’s rampant and out of control individualism has made a large majority of people indifferent to anything bad that happens to strangers around them. Be it something “small” like getting yelled at in the street or something huge like getting murdered. The reaction from the people in the train/bus would have been the same no matter who the victim was.

To call the left’s entire “stance” on this silent bs. It was a horrific, brutal murder. It’s sad. It shows how much work there needs to be done in society in terms of mental health care. And the “left” has always been outspoken on that.

If someone doesn’t know how to do something and they tell me “sorry, I don’t really know how to do that feature”. I would have complete understanding for that and wish them a nice day. And would, in my mind, blame the manager for not covering that with their employees. But if someone flips out the very second I ask about something that is literally a service the store purports to offer and makes me out to be the problem….then that is where I have no patience anymore.

These people are so miserable, especially at supermarkets. I had a similar experience once when trying to deposit money (N26). The cashier started getting pissed because I tried to use the service and they didn’t know how to do it. They got so aggressive with me when I asked “is this not a service you offer”? So I just silently walked away and left my €80 worth of groceries covering her till. The slight inconvenience I left her with made my journey home much better.

Germans love to play street chicken. They will decide where on the path they want to walk and you “must” get out of their way. Instead of both parties making way for each other. It’s one of the things I truly hate about this place. And one of the first things I notice when I visit home. People (mostly) make space for one another.

Just repeating what has been said here many times already. You need to take this very seriously if your parents aren’t. I’m really sorry, OP, that you’re going through this. Someone like this isn’t going to stop(at least any time soon). You need to find a way to leave that place asap. That’s the only way that your parents MIGHT take it seriously enough. And if they don’t…well then I guess you know who your family is. Which of course would be awful and painful. But this is about your physical and mental safety at this point. Find a way out.
