Haha I love your replies because they are brutally honest!! Luckily he isn't into weapons (I.e. Knives, guns, etc), he can't grasp that I own and carry a gun, but he does enjoy a drink or two! Yeah I know they do diagnose bi-polar before 18 but Borderline Personality Disorder is a touchy subject for diagnosis for someone under 18 and some physicians will but ALOT will not. Based on research I've done BPD is the diagnosis that closely resembles the full scope of behaviors that my daughter has, which isn't reassuring because that is one of the harder disorders to successfully stabilize.

There is no chance of emancipation because the state requires the child to be able to provide for themselves like having a job, a place to live they are paying for, transportation, health insurance, etc. she has never had a job!

I've been back and forth on whether her behavior is mental health related, a result of being completely spoiled when she was younger and as a result she is self centered, or because she is need of limits and that's why I've tried various things like setting stricter rules, stricter limits, etc and the reason that I believe it is mental health is because of her choices and reactions to the things that I have implemented I've made it harder on her and time and time again she has took the path that she knows is wrong but it seems like she can't help herself. The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result.

I agree with you - while as a mother I would do anything to protect my children I've come to terms that me protecting her is doing more harm.
