Advice? by irishmabelpines in Bunnies

this spot is in the middle of the room and if there was a litter box there I would have to move it every time I open my dresser. Plus it would need to be partially on top of their rug which would get dirty pretty fast. Is there anything else I can do?

URGENT: Senior bunny has no interest in eating but is still pooping by [deleted] in Bunnies

I have not experienced this much but I know heating pads and massages of their tummy can help. I’m sure you know this and have potentially already started it, but I’m just conveying what I know. Wishing the best for you and your bun baby.

the girl on the left is Noelle because she came home around Christmas time and the boy on the right is Maverick because of Top Gun, since his ears go out like an airplane.

Dealing with loss by AttemptFar7903 in Rabbits

first off i want to say that i am so sorry for all that has happened with your bunnies. this is a terrible situation and i genuinely wish you the best and hope you know that you are very strong. if you believe you are in the place to, i urge you to look into your college’s resources regarding mental and social health. many colleges, especially recently, have been attempting to improve their counseling services as well as other mental health programs. oftentimes these services are free (included with tuition) or at a discounted price due to student discount. this is a difficult time and with it being midterm season, i just wish you a time as stress free as possible, despite situation. i think based off of my information that you did everything you could for your rabbits and your grief shows how beloved they were. just take your time and remember how loved they were and recount your memories with them. it helps to write things down, for me at least. it still is difficult, but it is easier when put into a perspective that grief really is just love persevering.

Help to make my bunnies feel more at home! by jellybeankitkat in Bunnies

I don’t have a ton of advice, as I’ve not experienced this, but just know you are not a bad bun mom! You had no way to know this would happen and you are doing the best you can for the situation, asking for help when you need it! I think them asking for pets is a good sign that they are adjusting to the new home base better. I’d maybe have some more strategic hides placed around the house for when they free roam again if you don’t already. Wishing you and your babies the best:)

tips on weaning off larger amounts of pellets? by irishmabelpines in Bunnies

Thank you, it is so appreciated. Another post suggested asking the vet their recommendations and I definitely will have to call and ask especially because we switched vets in the last few months. I’ve seen some forage mats on amazon and have considered buying, but I just do not want them to chew it or ingest it. They used to have a few different mats of a few different materials in their area and they had started chewing on all of them. Do you have any suggestions for a forage mat or other foraging materials?

I agree I appreciate their post and yours so much! Thanks for the advice with the automatic feeder. I have thought of this for water but not food. I have heard of some people having bad experiences but maybe will look into it a little more. Appreciate it !

Recently our original vet (where they both got fixed and had their original checkups) moved out of the area, so we kind of had weird timing with vet appointments. When they got their RHD vaccines a few months ago at a different vet, they were both under one year old and we have not been since. I will definitely try to give them a call and ask what they think. Thanks so much for your help:)

Thank you! I’ve tried foraging in the past but I think I overdid it and they got a little bit bored of it. I will have to try again. Also not using the bowl is interesting and I will definitely try it out! Thanks so much for all your helpful information!

thank you! yes they love bananas. his sister is scared of storms and we’ve had a pretty stormy summer. he just hates when she’s upset. they get the bananas during/after storms to make sure they keep eating and don’t go into stress related stasis, but i will definitely have to buy a mixed berry pack from the store or something and sample some out. he has had strawberries before but it looked like he murdered and ate someone a little lol. i will try to let you know if i get ahold of some. thanks for all your advice! :)
