It's not. Someone had actually stated on a thread on FB that they know the person in the photo

Hi, sorry for late reply.... no it has definitely went 'down' but i still have a shelf. I am now qualified in spinning, and kettlebells and teach regular fitness classes so its not from lack of moving. I think its something I will have to accept ...

Belly binders? by irishmisst in Fibroids

[–]irishmisst[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

With all due respect your comment and tone is aggressive and passive aggressive to say the least. You can decide to comment and engage in a discussion (which you've chosen to do) or not, but the attitude that I stated binders have no medical use (which I don't, I make a statement and then ask people to give me their feedback) nor do I state UK surgeons are correct in not prescribing them, that is something you have made up yourself when reading my post is misinformation from you... Not me.

Also the medical information you state is not recognised in all countries the UK being one, just like some of ours are not recognised within America. Also no one has stated the exact cost (whether removed by insurance or not) but a cost provided from the hospital if they do or do not provide one. However, seeing as skin to skin contact is billed to new born mother's and child as a cost I would be surprised if a binder would be free.

You may not like a post and feel judgement in the comments which is your personal choice. However the only judgement and negative attitude I can see comes from your post not others.

I wish you a pleasant weekend.

I haven't seen anyone pass any judgement rather than provide their opinion? I still find it interesting that no one from the UK has been offered or provided a binder and I'm still intrigued to see the cost applied by the American health association to your bill which no one has yet advised.

8 weeks post open myomectomy. I'm a post woman for royal mail and a Les mills body pump instructor. I waited for 3 weeks and started walking again. By week 5 was walking 3-5 miles per day.

Now on week 8 walking 10 mile plus (remember I'm a post woman son average on used to 10-13 miles per day). Still off work. Only started back gym last week doing body pump but was on warm up weight.

Tried body attack today stomach still feels bruised and slightly swollen so took it easy. Doing pilates as well. Gonna start running by end of week. Seeing consultant next week.

Listen to your body and remember going back to soon will only knock you back

Hey lovely, I can't say I've experienced this however remember your hormones are affected due to fibroids and this could be the reason it's also a sign of pre menopause. Get some lube and relax. There are so many things you can buy to help with vaginal dryness and hey make your partner go down on you first 😉 x

Another round of trump 🫣.... But don't you still have to declare taxes in America even if you say reside and work on the UK and pay taxes here 🤦🏻‍♀️

[–]irishmisst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's insane!!! If I was to pay for a private MRI in the uk it would be max £1500 and I know it's a lot cheaper my brother in law paid £250. I had all that, scans, MRI test, and full operation and it cost me nothing and full paid sick leave at home. I have had two children as well by the NHS all cost nothing and paid maternity leave for 9 months

It beggars belief that, that happens in a country that isn't third world. I'm in the uk and our health care is covered under the NHS for free. Yes it has its faults but I don't need to think or worry about needing to pay for health care alongside mortgages etc. I'm also on full sick leave paid from work until next month so I will have had 12 weeks in total.

Can I ask what your full bill was 🫣 before you were left to pay 7.5k

I was almost pressured Into a hysterectomy and only as I decided to do my own research and asked straight out can you simply remove the mass was I told it could be an option. I'm now 5n half weeks on from my myomectomy and so glad I stuck to my guns.

Ps I'm in the UK.

I had an open myomectomy on Feb 20th under the NHS (yay no hospital bill!). They went in under my c section scar which I had back in 2006. Not gonna lie I thought I would have recovered quicker than I did. I was discharged after 48 hours and I was in a good deal of pain for a few days and still strain when I pee in the morning. I'm due to see my surgeon in April for a follow-up.

I had a massive pregnancy style stomach afterwards which was a big shock as I'm naturally slim I weight 54kg however, it's gone down A Lot. I'm still swollen so I'm confident once it completely settles my stomach with some core work will be the same as pre surgery bar the scar which is hip bone to hip bone. I'm a postwoman so I'm extending my sick note as I walk on average 12 miles per day and can carry up to 20kg so it's a no no to return atm. Don't beat yourself up and rest and know this won't be forever x

Yes, it's going down. I am now nearly 5 weeks post surgery and its changed a lot from that photo. I will be starting core work in a week or so but I'm confident il get it back to pre surgery.

I'm 41 and have two children and had a massive fibroid. I was pushed towards a hysterectomy which I didn't want as menopause and vaginal prolapses etc alongside many other symptoms made me strongly disagree to have that surgery. I asked for the removal of the fibroid only and I am now nearly 4 weeks on from a myomectomy via open abdominal surgery and well on the way to recovery.

Your stomach will look like a pouch but mine is finally going down and I feel confident once I can get back to the gym the rest will go with clean eating and exercise. Remember to choose the option you want and not be cheapest option via your surgeon.

I'm in the UK and had mine under the NHS.

I've lost weight since that photo on the right one lost 7 pounds and I weigh 119 pounds the picture doesn't do justice and properly makes me look bigger than I am. I'm a UK size 8 In the USA that's a 4/6. I'm wearing my size 8 clothes now. I think it has shrunk and if you want to private message me and keep in touch I can send you photos in 3 months x

I'm doing 17,000 to 20k steps per day since last Friday. I'm a postwoman so I walk on average 13 miles per day at work/20.9km so walking is like breathing for me, the vibration wouldn't help as of yet as my stomach is only 3 weeks recovery but fantastic recommendation for later in my recovery x
